Thats tough. Strikeforce DC all wrestling and Pride Era Fedor was a submission hunter. IDK if DC could handle the subs coming at him at that point. Fedor was able to Sub Coleman x2 and Randleman. going off that alone id be inclined to say Pride Fedor by sub off his back.

Just depends what you consider his "Prime" to be. those guys caught him in 2011. IMO his prime was 2000-2007-08 ish.

Fedor also excelled in a boxing ring and spent almost his whole career fighting in one. If a young Strikeforce DC went over to fight Fedor in Pride, around 04' - 06', I'd favor Fedor to catch DC and finish him.

You kids are ********. Prime Fedor definitely beats prime DC. DC wasn't even a real HW. The best version of Fedor had amazing anti-wrestling and his speed was off the hook. He would have starched DC.

so Gillespie had an injury or what? 2020 no fights, 2021 1 fight, 2022 no fights (he turned down multiple fights this year because he wanted to fight guys ranked higher only) so they took him from the rankings just like that and he still doesn't have a fight booked. Can you waste a possibility of earning money more than that? Does he have a full time job to fight once a 2 years?

Fedor was overrated. Being honest, Don't get me wrong I think he was and still is one of the greatest MMA fighters of all time but Dan Henderson knocked him out From the bottom in the first round.

@fremen I remember Dana saying he has to pay the fighters if they turn down 3 fights a year (that’s what he said about diaz) so I think Gregor is just getting paid to not fight lol

No way they get paid if they're straight up turning down the fights, they would get cut like Yair did a few years back. Plus he never said how much they get paid for not fighting, I bet it's much less than they would make if they did fight.

I know it sounds weird but Dana was saying something like that when talking about Nate’s situation. He was like if they don’t fight I have to pay them or something like that. Gregor has a gf tho so she probably has a job and provides income to the household anyways

I didn't find anything about them paying fighters if they don't get fights. Maybe it's a special clause put into the contract or it's something they started doing moving forward after this?
