Durodola vs. Makabu
Ilunga Makabu, TKO, R4
Makabu is a super exciting boxer!!! He has had some WARS with the best at Cruiserweight, 200lbs. Including a 3 round BANGER with Tony Bellew in a filled Football Stadium in Liverpool(Goodison not Anfield) where both men hit the canvas and swung til someone(Makabu) was out cold! Most impressive is Makabu's run as the away fighter in Russia when he had a 12 round slugfest with Alexey Papin where he dropped Papin in the 12th to sc**** out a split decision. Best of all was his 6 round demolition of , at the time, feared Russian KO machine Dmitry Kudryashov. After a couple rounds of back n forth action when both men hit the deck Makabu took over and basically broke Kudrayshovs heart and stopped him. What I'm saying is Makabu is a great action fighter!!! If you can then you should watch him. Just a pity he is fighting in the Congo with next to no coverage at all in a WBC World Title fight!!!!

Basheel vs. Yumba
Anisha Basheel, DEC
Blantyre is a rough ass dump of an area in Scotland, I have some horrible(or fun!!!) memories from there!!! Just kinda funny to see another Blantyre in Malawi!!! Up i Tyre ya Bass!!!

Am I correct in thinking that David Tshama is already competing for a title on his pro debut? Impressive if it is!

Yup, he is.
I have said a few times now that whenever a guy makes his pro debut or 1st/2nd fight in a title that they are probably a very good amateur turning pro.
Unfortunately my boxing knowledge doesn't stretch as far as the Congolese amateur system!!! So I have no clue who this guy is!!!

@Mikey1903

Thanks for confirming! I'm never really sure to what extent I should take a fighter's amateur experience into consideration when picking fights as there is a big jump between amateur and pro and many great amateurs fail badly on the pro circuit. I usually only look at their amateur records if there is nothing else to go on.

Yeah judging an amateur record can be hard. Even on BoxRec, they only include amateur fights from major tournaments (Olympics, Worlds, National) it's also just hard to keep track of every amateur fight! So you can check a fighters amateur record and it may show a losing record, say 2-5, but that may be 5 losses at major tournaments and also doesn't include 50 amateur wins in local competitions!!!
It's tough do figure out!!! I usually look for things like if a big promotion, management has signed them or sometimes you'll find an article online with good information. But, again, it's tough.

@Mikey1903

In a situation where there are two debutants fighting, I often ignore the amateur results and pick the one with the name I like best lol!

Haha! Why not!
I used to use that strategy when choosing a horse to back in the Grand National. Worked 1x!!!  Failed 20x!! But that 1x was SWEET!!!

@Mikey1903

If it was an outsider then it could potentially cover all of the other losses! My old man does the same on the Grand National but I don't think he's ever won anything. I always tell him to do it E/W in case it places but he never listens lol!
