I think the fight  it´s a good bussines descicion for Dana, bc both of these fighters have lost momentum, and you have 2 big hitters that hasn´t accomplished much lately beating each other, whoever wins, gets back on the game, the other one was already in nowhere land. So the way I see it theres nothing to loose, personally I´m not a fan of either of them, but it´s gonna be a slugfest and thats always fun to watch.

This is a good fight for the Japan card and getting Rampage a win there...Bader fights a lot like Rampage with good wrestling and throwing heavy hands

I feel like Rampage has been losing his "pop" lately. I'm still pulling for him though. I'd say Rampage via decision.

It's a revelancy fight; Does Rampage, the older fighter, still have it? Or Does Bader, the younger fighter, still have the tools and heart to leap to the next level?

@bklettke Joe Silva was the matchmaker before the Zuffa acquired the UFC.  Dana and the Fertitta's felt that he did a good job and they kept him.  Sean Shelby I believe (not 100% certain) was the matchmaker for the WEC before Zuffa acquired them, and they also liked how he did it and kept him.  But when Zuffa acquired Strikeforce they fired the matchmaker (Rich Chou).

Because Rich Chou was a fool :D

Really though I think Chou's problem was that his matchmaking was geared towards short term interest/goals instead of long term.

If Rampage stuffed some of Jone's takedowns he should have no problem with Bader. Rampage via KO.

I would put Rampage's power way ahead of Bader's in the KO department

Rampage can take a shot. Several in fact. Tito, while not weak, isn't exactly a one punch KO artist and yet he rocked Bader hard. In a close range showdown I would pick Rampage.

I have to say IF Bader can takedown Rampage or even knock him down (if he catches Rampage coming in with a hard shot - momentum can make punches hurt a lot more) then his chances improve a lot.

@legacy

"lost momentum" "both are in nowhere land" ***??

Rampage just fought for the title, gave Jones his toughest fight yet and he looked better than ever doing it.

Bader just got a 1st-round-1-min-KO against Brilz.

In my book that's neither losing momentum nor being in 'nowhere land'. If anything, they are both climbing back on top quickly. If Rampage was fed Bader is not because Rampage is now considered low-tier after losint jo JJ, but because after Bader got the W, he's now back in the top 10, maybe even 7 or higher.

I would've rather have Bader-DAvis and Rampage-shogun but I guess this is a good match up as well.

This fight will either end in a KO for Rampage or a DEC for Bader imo.

Hard one to call. Clearly Rampage is the favorite, but I don't know where he is mentally after the Jones loss, so we'll see.  A Rampage like we saw at UFC 135 will smash Bader, but one that looked like he did at UFC 86 or 96, Bader could give him a run for his money

I think the Rampage from 135 was far from impressive. Sure he showed great TD defense, and Jones was obviously scared of his power by the way he backed up, but he still refuses to check leg kicks, and on the opportunities he did have to connect with Jones on the breaks up against the cage he threw nothing. Lets not forget how tentative he was also against Hamill. Rampage is obviously the favorite and should be, but this is going to be far closer than people think. This is going to a decision.

@torch, the only problem I see is the chin of Bader.  The only people who have tested it were Lil Nog and Tito, and we saw how he crumpled to Tito's shot.  No disrespect to Tito, but that wasn't a power shot.  I'll add to my previous post and say that if Bader can be faster than Rampage and work the kicks he'll also have a good shot, but I have a bad feeling that he'll get clipped... I still haven't decide who I'm going to pick though

I agree with Torch. Not sure what impressed everyone so much about Rampage against Jones but I still think Rampage will win this fight
