Something that happens too often in MMA is Fighter A is beating the **** out of Fighter B, then Fighter B either wiggles around or Fighter A gets a little tired landing 20 unanswered shots, so there's a lull in the action and the ref counts that as Fighter B "defending" or something even though they haven't improved position or stopped themselves from taking damage.

That was an utter disgrace. A ref is supposed to take into account cumulative damage, not just look at each individual strike and say it looked like it was maybe sort of being defended. Probably the worst stoppage since Curran-Warren at Bellator 60. I couldn't even watch the rest of the event.

We should also question Aldo's corner on this one. Just atrocious. After all that man did for the sport (and I'm not an Aldo fan in the slightest).

I hate to see that. I'm all for fighters being given the opportunity to try and come back but Aldo was just getting beaten up. He wasn't showing intelligent defense, he was just waiting for it to end.
