ABC passed new rules regarding the definition of what constitutes a grounded fighter, to wit:
Under the new language, a fighter is considered grounded if they have anything more than just the soles of their feet on the mat. Thus, a fighter who has a fist or palm on the ground will be considered grounded and cannot be attacked with kicks or knees to the head. Should only a fighter’s fingers be touching the mat, they will not be considered grounded.
It will of course be practically impossible for a fighter to determine, in a split second, whether the palm or merely the fingers are touching the mat. The new guidelines are simply going to result in more referee interventions that will altar the course of matches and lead to unnatural outcomes as a result of match-pausing to assess potential fouls giving damaged fighters time to recover; ultimately robbing dominant fighters and fans of finishes. Grounding will become a heavily relied upon stalling tactic, and a mechanism grappling proficient fighters exploit to get strikers into their area of expertise. The new criterion is terrible, and will only serve to make MMA worse.

Theres actually not many fighter that use the "grounded technic", not in UFC at least.
Why would it change beause they have to put palm or fist other then finger?
