To say I didn't see this coming is an understatement. Anik must know that ESPN isn't serious about MMA and got tired of coming on at 230 in the morning. I don't know how many of you go to his chats but this is obviously why he didn't do one yesterday. I think Anik is actually fairly ignorant when it comes to MMA, but he is passionate and I enjoyed his Bellator calls. Definitely a huge change, what do tapologists think about this? Are you OK with Anik doing the FX shows? And what does this mean for Rogan and Goldie on these cards?
@jersey if that we're to be the case, which I think it might be, who do you think they'll get to go alongside Anik? I could see maybe a 3 teamer with Anik, Florian, and Mauro since Strikeforce will be non existent next year.
@cash you are right about that it slipped my mind. But with their President of Sports going to HBO, they may not be wanting to stay in the MMA game at all.
5-10 years from now the UFC is going to probably need many more commentators. There will be too many shows. The time is now to start finding them and seeing which ones work out and do well.
I didnt know who he was so I went and watched some videos, I hardly ever watch ESPN because I dont get that channel. He wont be horrible but he wont be great either. Bring in Bas.
"She be curvin all the locals, must like foreigns and this is when I had the Martin, I was just like Lawrence so wassup"
"With former ESPN personality Jon Anik taking over non-ppv play-by-play when the UFC moves to FX this will mark the last free tv card to feature long time UFC commentator Mike Goldberg." So does this mean Joe Rogan will still be doing it?!...
"I really feel like I'm the most dangerous guy out there" BJ Penn........... UFC on Fox 2 event winner :)
