IF YOU'VE HEARD ENOUGH OF FEDOR, THERE'S A REVOLUTIONARY IDEA OF NOT PARTICIPATING IN THIS THREAD.

Sorry If someone's already made a thread about this. I'm just wondering where everyone sits in regards to Fedor. Do you think he should retire on his three losses? Was he the best HW/in the top P4Pers at some point?  Personally I think for anyone to have almost 30 straight wins they must be immense. He beat Cro Cop, Nogueira, Arvloski and Slyvia - some excellent fighters, although he never *consistently* fought the BEST of the best.

I think as long as he want's to keep fighting he should keep on fighting. He is lined up to fight jeff Monson in November I think. I think your right, to go on the run he had and beat the competition he beat he was the best HW at the time. However it's clearly no longer the case after his last 3 losses. I would still like to see him fight in the UFC but I don't think we will ever see that day.

@torch i agree 100% about that statement.  In fedors heyday he was the best.  That has passed him by now. I respect the man, despite how much i disagree with how he thinks and is handled.  He beat the guys that were tops, when they were tops in 2003-2006 then his competition became pretty shadey and sporadic.  Now hes not at the top anymore.  He should always be remembered as one of the first early greats of our beloved sport but its unlikely he will beat top heavyweight competition any longer.

Seriously another thread on Fedor?!?!?!? I thought he went away on Tapology. It's obvious he should retire. My opinion of him is dead on with Dana's.

Fedor is unquestionably the best heavyweight in the history of MMA.

After Pride died, he started to decline.  I think it's clear he stopped training nearly as hard as he used to.

Old Fedor

New Fedor

I think after Pride died, fighting became more of a job for him.  He doesn't have the passion for it anymore.

He'll probably beat Monson, but either way, I'd like to see him retire.

I think the curse of Fedor is that we expect so much from him. He's not top 10 anymore because of how much the game had evolved, but i definitaly think he can still compete. He was competitive in each of those three losses.

I don't think it's fair to say, "he never fought the BEST of the best."

He beat the best of his time.  It wasn't until 2006 that he stopped fighting the best.

@AnAlias, good point bro, just wanted to maintain a neutral stance, theres nothing I hate more than when, for example, Sonnen fans cannot accept their oppositions views, i.e, Anderson Silva doesnt actually suck. Also old Fedor is not someone id like to meet in a dark alleyway..

@Russello I don't think I would want to meet any version of Fedor in a dark alleyway...

In my opinion he should. It's not that he got THAT much worse. It's that the game has changed and he seems to have trouble adapting.

I always enjoyed Fedor as a fighter.  Not much on the personality spectrum, but he was beating guys in PRIDE and some of the toughest guys in the Heavyweight division.  He is frowned upon because he never got in to the UFC to fight the top competition.  It was a shame to see him lose 3 times in a row.  It doesn't take much away from him in my eyes though.  He fought 3 tough guys in a day and age where competition is getting a lot better.  As for his future, "It is god's will"..

How can you not think much of his personality? He is a humble, and pious man.
