Whenever there's a fight like GSP vs Koscheck or something else with tons of hype, sometimes people don't even care or talk about the rest of the main card. But if you are whipping out $45 to watch this thing, shouldn't you get your money's worth?
Rate the the UFC 124 main card 1-4 stars and if you think it's worth the price of admission.
Main Event: GSP vs Koscheck: 3 stars. Bad blood and lots of hype, but long odds for Koscheck.
Co-Main: Struve vs McCorkle: 2 stars. Could be lots of action, good smack talk lead-up, but Struve is a mid-level UFC heavyweight, and we've seen all of 60 seconds of McCorkle before. Co-main?
Miller vs Oliveira: 3 stars. A legit on-the-cusp guy in Jim Miller and human excitement in Oliveira. Great fight, but neither guy is a star so it maxes out at 3 stars.
Stevenson vs Danzig: 1.5 stars. They've both gone as high as they will. Doesn't set anything interesting up in the LW division except build back Stevenson a little.
Alves vs Howard: 3 stars. Slight mismatch on paper but lots of questions of what kind of Alves will show up. And lots of questions on if Howard is a pretender who lucked his way onto main cards or not. And they both like to brawl.
Overall rating: no four-star fights and a couple questionable bouts on there. Overall rating: 2.5 stars. It will get my money to see GSP shut up Koscheck and because I'm addicted to MMA. But this isn't so great.

i'd give it a 4 really,but im always too excited about events and then bitterly disappointed afterwards

this is a great card in my opinion. joe silva's outdone himself. you get one great striker vs. striker matchup with alves and howard. one great grappler vs. grappler matchup with bocek and hazelett. one great stylistic matchup with oliveira vs. miller. stevenson / danzig should be a grind. and the main event is set up to be fantastic.
it goes without saying you never know how an event will play out, but in advance i'd say 4 stars for sure.

Struve vs McCorkle: 1, who cares
Miller vs Oliveira: 3 great fight
Stevenson vs Danzig: 3 I love Joe Daddy and Danzig fights hard
Alves vs Howard: 4, fantastico decoco
Overall: 3 stars. Good main event and a couple other ones but what kind of co-main event is this. Compare against UFC 126 with Silva/Belfort + Griffin/Franklin + Jones/Bader now that's 4 stars.
