Le is a great athlete but I just don't think he is ment for the ufc and we will see it in that fight.

Prediction: Le  |  KO/TKO  |  Round 2

But in respect to Le @Lawman,

he DOES use his superior striking very, VERY leniantly against his opponents, just because he knows his striking is better than his opponents.

So when we see him against somebody as dangerous as Vitor, we might see a different Le. He could fight quite a bit more refined.

Vitor is just way better than Le, if Le tries one of his "creative" strikes I fully expect him to eat multiple shots

@Live2wrestle....The more I think about it, the more I think you're right.

It's not like Vitor has never seen a spinning back kick before.  He's going to be able to close the distance very quickly, and expose Le's lack of boxing.

@Geez, thats different from a spinning back kick. A spinning back kick will give him plenty of time to close distance.

Not really sure why this fight is going to be the main event. It would make a better co-main IMO

It most definitely is worth at least co-main event.

Anybody who likes MMA more than just the UFC knows who Le is and what he's capable of,

which is a lot.

I figured the fight would just be a fight in the main card, not necessarily the main or co-main event.  I agree with you guys, this is not main event worthy.

Even though Cung Le is an accomplished kickboxer and respected fighter, this fight just feels like it has "freakshow fight" written all over it, and that gives me flashbacks to Couture/Toney...

I don't think I'd go that far to compare it to Toney vs. Couture.  Cung Le is a former Strikeforce Middleweight Champ.  He beat Scott Smith and Frank Shamrock, and also early in his career he defeated journeyman Tony Fryklund, who is a UFC veteran.  I think Le is a serious MMA competitor, but he's just not quite yet ready for Belfort.

The curve ball factor is that Belfort may not be as good as people are hyping him up to be, and he might get exposed against Le.  That's always a possibility, at which time I hope we all have an appetite big enough to eat our words.

Prediction: Le  |  KO/TKO  |  Round 2

I think that Belfort is one of those great strikers who viciously beats grapplers (Akiyama)

But doesn't do as well as top level strikers (Silva, Overeem, Liddell)

Of course, there are always factors that don't fit like losing the the grappler Dan Henderson and winning against a top level striker like Franklin.

But Le might be the best striker he has faced along with Silva.

I agree with RWL, Im not saying Le doesnt have a chance just that I dont think he is ready for Belfort.

I wouldn't consider Franklin to be a top level striker.  He's an awkward striker.  But regardless, I agree with your analogy that Le could be the most polished striker Belfort has ever gone against.

@Lawman, I was actually skeptical about putting him in there,

I sat there and stared at his name for about 40 seconds before posting it,

so I can't fault you for calling out that one.

On a serious note, Vitor by first round ko
