I'm considering changing a Penn decision a Penn TKO.  I think he has the boxing to get inside and hurt him and the power to put him away. hmm...

could go either way but i reckon diaz goin to win by sub in 3rd

I'm so much more excited about this fight than Diaz vs GSP

Jiu jitsu is completely irrelevant here because neither guy has even decent takedown skills, and neither guy tends to look for takedowns. They're both "I'll beat him wherever he wants to take it"-type fighters. I guess it could wind up on the ground after someone gets hit on the chin, but I don't see much happening if it does go there. Neither guy has enough of a jits edge to get a submission, and they both like (or talk about liking) exciting fights, so I don't think it'll stay on the ground even if someone does fall down & get chased.

They're both excellent MMA boxers, but Nick has a size & reach advantage (right?) as well as a more aggressive boxing style. I think Nick takes it after wearing BJ down a bit, probably by TKO.

@bloopdoopfoopmoop Penn doesnt have good takedown skills??! what? Your post just lost all sense because of that. Penn took down Fitch. Penn actually has quite good takedowns you just rarely see him use them.

diaz won't be going for the takedown. he will just be working the body and face of baby J. until he can't take it no more. when penn loses this happens ;- {

One of my most anticipated fights of the year. This is going to be such a good fight. Im a fan of both fighters, but a bigger fan of Diaz. Im curious as to whether they will stand up for 15 minutes or use their BJJ against eachother.

hey mike your're so right, it's gonna be f...ing amazing and it really got the potential to be fight of the year, but i can't decide wich side i'm on. my gut feeling is diaz wins, he has the reach and height advantage which should be handy in a boxing/stand up war, but  baby j's bjj is sick and if he goes for takedowns like we saw in the fitch fight . who knows
i certainly do not.

I strongly disagree with any statement that says Diaz is overrated.  However, I feel that Penn has fought the stronger competition and therefore is more experienced and will take the decision, since Diaz is near impossible to finish.

@jersey. this will help. penn says. i'm training as hard as ever for this fight. diaz says and i quote "I'm gonna come out of my hell hole and i'm gonna beat you!" who do we believe? 209 baby. this thread is the down arrow capital of the taplogy world! i luv it.

Both are great fighters and either guy can take this, imo. Penn can catch Diaz with a good punch and drop him but Diaz can also use his aggressiveness and volume punching to wear out Penn. Sure Penn can probably take Diaz down, like he did to Fitch, except he is BJ freaking Penn. He isnt gonna look to wrestle with Diaz. 

I believe both :)  That's why this is going to be a fckin great fight!

i'm predicting now that ufc 137 will break some ppv numbers and break the record here as most picked event. people have got there sides in four major fights. this one. gsp vs condit, cerrone vs siver and mitrione vs kongo. no gray areas here. just black and white. for myself i got almost all finishes. i'm excited already.

I'm gray on both Mitrione/Kongo and Siver/Cerrone :)

But Black and white as can be on the other two!
