Rumores that Mighty Mouse is going to get the call to headline FOX in April. He could tie Anderson Silva's title defense record with a victory.

Could possibly be fun but flyweight blows and they should have given Reis a better fight than Sasaki to get ready for this one. Who's Benavidez gonna fight now? He has no decent matchups left.

Yeah, I honestly thought Benavidez would get the next shot as well. Maybe they'll keep him on the shelf until after MM beats Reis. Benavidez would then be the opponent that the Mouse tries to set the record against.

It is hard for Benavidez to get a shot when MM already beat him twice.  It wouldn't be unheard-of but not when there are other at least legit top 10 guys MM hasn't beat.

@BigJ Yeah, I felt the same until after he beat Cejudo. Like Pillory said, Benavidez has basically cleaned out the division in his own right. Don't get me wrong, I'm not mad the UFC seems to have opted to go with Reis. Fresh face.

Ultra, that is because they have no one left to fight MM and they are picking anyone.

@rappinpapsoda This is ********. If they have no one left, it's simply because they don't give a **** about this division. If they did, why did they not just keep the 'best' elements of the division? Horiguchi.. Bagautinov..

@Alex you listed two guys Mighty Mouse already soundly beat. They weren't fighting for a title anytime and wouldn't really change the title picture. Even if they were still under contract Mighty Mouse would still be lining up against Reis and then maybe Borg or way down the line Pettis. Other than that it is rematches.

DJ has the same issue Cyborg has, nobody recognizes them as greats because they're big sharks in small ponds, as far as the talent gap is concerned anyway.

Most of Cyborg's wins have been against undersized girls though, since Women's FW hardly has any talent out there, not to mention that she popped a couple of years back. Demetrious on the other hand, has faced tougher competition imo, John Dodson, Benavidez, Horiguchi, Cejudo and even Bagautinov are all quality guys. He's not fighting overblown guys nor does he have a size advantage over most of them. Seems to me that people don't like him cuz he's small, which is a pretty stupid reason if you ask me. Always love some MM.

@Thesnake101, Your whole post looks like a giant red herring to what I said. But since you went there, yeah to casual fans (like 90% of fans) size does matter, for many reasons. I never said they were 100% analogous in all ways, but you at least understand why I compared them right?

Yeah, they're far superior than the competition they face, and it shows. That's one of the problems that dominant champs run into, people start discrediting them because they beat everyone they put in front of them, and say that they only did it because their competition was garbage.

That's not to say that I think that Cyborg has faced top quality opponents though, since she often faced overblown BWs and FLWs.

How can you pick against this man?. Getting into the 10, 11, 12 and so on title defences there becomes an increasing risk that he will have a bad night and someone will have the best night of their career. However I don't see this being Reis and I think MM does what he always does, fight to the gameplan and be perfect.

@Bigj383 My point is that you can't pretend caring about a division when you just let go some of it's top contenders. i didn't say Horiguchi or Bagautinov would beat MM now but they had competitive fight and there is absolutely no reason to let them go if you care about that division. Pure non sense

PS: I think Horiguchi can be a champ. Don't forget he is only 26 and he maybe had his shot too early, give him a little more time and he will have some serious arguments against MM. No doubt.
