I'm hoping that this is a win-and-retire scenario for Faber, but something else tells me that this won't be the last time we see him...who knows.

This should be a retirement fight for both.

They're trying to kill poor Pickett. :(

Faber wins this imo. He may not be on the level he was at one time, but he's still more than enough to beat Pickett. Will Faber retire afterwards? Maybe. Pickett is gone with a loss, and probably should call it a career even if he gets the W. A win may buy him another fight or two, but at this point, retirement would be best. Going away on a win over Faber would be a good send off.

I was calling for this to be faber fight last time. Wish they had done it then. Faber should win this and hopefully sail off into the sunset.

Faber being the less washed up fighter takes this one pretty easily. Brad needs to hang 'em up and I think the only reason he hasn't done so already is because he recently became a father.

I'm not even sure Pickett is more washed up,or by much if any. He's been kind of unlucky, for a lack of a better word.He beat Thomas Almeida that first round dropping him at least once (maybe more iirc) then caught a flying knee from hell out of nowhere in the 2nd.Then he beat Francisco Rivera whose a tough out for anyone and Rivera beat up Urijah Faber the 1st round clearly, before receiving the terrible eye poke in which he needed surgery.Brad got caught by a spinning elbow from Uiri Alcantara that drunked him and couldn't recover.

Faber hasn't looked good either, sure he lost to good guys recently, but in those 13 rounds he didn't win a single round.I'm including his shutout loss to Jimmie Rivera, who is good but shouldn't be clearly beating Faber,I mean Jimmie won a split vs Pendro Munhoz not that he's bad but he's not great either especially when you think of Faber as elite'ish.Faber got ko'd by Renan, looked mediocre vs Caceres, lucky vs Rivera, got dominated by Edgar, beat Frankie Saenz (arguably losing iirc I thought he lost or just got the edge),then schooled by Cruz and Jimmie Rivera.

Faber will probably win because he's always been a step higher than Pickett in overall skill (imo) but I don't think Brad's much less washed up if any.I think the way Brad looks physically, like frail and old adds to the thoughts of how washed up he is,while Faber looks just like Faber always looks, but performance wise I think they have both gone downhill at about the same rate,I think more for Faber because his style is the exact same and the game is passing him by on the higher levels. His striking has become predictable and his td's and ground isn't on the same level anymore. While I think Pickett might just not take damage as he once could but performance wise is similar maybe just a step down.

Stylistically in this fight it's possible Faber needs to take it to the ground to win imo.Faber doesn't have the power to hurt Brad bad standing (unless Brad's chin is truly bad now),barring some crazy knee or HK..Also,like in the Caceres, Sisco Rivera,Caceres,Jimmy Rivera etc.fights Faber seemed to not perform great,I honestly think he takes some guys lighter and it shows in his performances.Does almost 20 years of grinding have him only going 100% in the gym for the big fights?Does he take Pickett lightly?I think it's a good possibility. Not lightly, but lighter if that makes sense.

Bottom line though for me,I don't think that flying knee from Almeida and the spinning elbow from Alcantara really show where Pickett is at right now performance and skill wise,he got caught with seriously crazy **** and it makes it look like he's fallen farther than he has.I think he's almost as good as he was he's just had some setbacks.that could happen to anyone, whether his chin is worse I can't judge from those crazy shots.I was thinking about maybe taking Pickett when the fight was announced, his wrestling is good enough imo to keep it standing and standing I think he might be able to pull off the upset.Just my messy opinion sorry for the long post.

Faber's on the decline but Pickett would probably be cut by now if it weren't for the split decision win against Rivera that he statistically should probably have lost.
