Prediction: correct Rivera   correct Decision

Big step up in competition for Rivera, but this will be a changing-of-the-guard fight. Rivera is a blue chip prospect and there's a 10-year age difference. Good booking.

No mention of Erik Perez, who Rivera was scheduled to meet at 201.

Oh, did they change the announcement they made on the weigh-ins? They announced it as a rematch of the eye-poke fight which was Faber and Francisco Rivera.

Why does Faber go from fighting for titles to fighting young prospects? Why is Faber not fighting Assunsasonfocnsoao, Dillashaw, Caraway, someone ranked around where he is. Would love to see a rematch with Cisco.

A combination of things lead to this matchup. I feel like for one that Dana & Co are lining up Faber with these prospects in hopes he finally loses and they can lower his stock in the company. The thing with Faber is he will never hold a UFC title as long as Cruz is atop the division. In some odd way too, I could see him turning down the Dillashaw fight, this the UFC giving him these fringe top10-15 guys. Unfortunately he will be the gatekeeper until the sport passes him or he retires.

Faber will never win the UFC title period and I think he's clearly starting to decline. This should be an interesting fight though.

He wins the non-title fights and lises the title ones.

A Faber loss would mean he would be coming off back to back losses for the first time in his long career ( I'm torn on who to side with )

Jimmie Rivera is a dude I've been following ever since he upset Abel Cullem back in 2010. I'm excited to finally see him fight the top guys I thought he'd be fighting years ago.

Faber is a tough style matchup for him though. This could go either way.

Faber has to prove he can still hang, and I think he will do just that. Rivera has power, but I think faber can weather the storm and get a choke in the third round.

my guess is wrestling cancels each other out so it's decided by the striking. Faber is underrated there I think.
