No. Cause, though old, Severn would still suplex Kimbo all over the arena.

The sad thing is Mr Mike lover of tacos, I agree with you, Severn via rag-dolling he's 6 years older then Ken. However, I do think Bellator does have a good future and is much needed in this monopolized game of MMA dominated by the UFC.

Its looking like Kimbo vs Petruzelli will be next. They had him cage side yelling at Kimbo after the fight. Im sure that wasnt planned .... Im shocked they didnt let him get in the cage.

@curt, I don't see Bellator ever matching Kimbo up with an actual MMA fighter that hasn't been retired for 31 years.

Petruzelli would beat Kimbo anywhere and everywhere the fight went in an embarassing fashion.

I agree. Petruzelli has already beat kimbo. I just find it odd that Bellator would give Petruzelli of all people ring side seats to their best show of the year. And even though he beat Kimbo already he still felt the need to yell at him after the match. It just seems like they are gonna work the revenge tour angle here like UFC will probably do with Cro Cop.

Kimbo had little to show when he was still young and at 41 he has nothing left but a hail mary, Ken Shamrock who was done 10 years ago almost submit him, I think that if it weren't because of the size/strength diference he would have put him to sleep.  Basically anyone younger than Ken with basic BJJ level will beat Kimbo

Petruzelli explained why he yelled at him, he said it was because Kimbo called him out and then suddenly wouldn't give him the time of day, stating he's not worth fighting. Something of the sort, I read it somewhere but don't remember where.

@legacy, I agree ... now that I've actually watched the fight (I couldn't bring myself to watch it on the night after the Weichel/Pitbull fight since that would be washing down a good steak with roasted parsley), it's not even like Ken worked a takedown to get there ... he accidentally farted in Kimbo's direction and he was on the mat.

Also, I still have my suspicions Ken not finishing that sub was a scripted move that almost went bad when Kimbo arguably tapped. For now I'm giving Bellator the benefit of the doubt due to Shamrock actually being washed out and old enough to give plausible deniability to him not being able to finish from that position, but it's a fragile benefit.

One thing's for sure, Kimbo has evolved and is a scary MF now ... Werdum beware, Kimbo is coming for you.

LOL

I thought I saw Kimbo give a single tap in two separate occasions, but it did look like a tap.

Man they need to stay retired. Royce Gracie has a great Legacy and is hurting it. Of course he will never really ultimately hurt it because of his UFC wins in 1 2 and 4.

I actually remember back then as a 23 year old being so glad Gracie was out in the 3rd because back then I had absolutely no clue about fighting and thought he was just a scared *****. lol

I went back and watched those fights again with MMA understanding and the fact is, he was a bad ass and there is  no doubt about it.

But now he needs to train people.

Look at Rener and Ryron. Those guys are phenomenal trainers. Brian Ortega is guaranteed to smash whoever he fights win or lose.  People like Ortega are proof that the scoring system needs updating. The fact that he would have lost that fight on points because he was purposely working off his back is a shame because he was winning the fight at every second of that fight and putting on a GJJ clinic.

Did you see how out of breath Slice was at the end of that fight?

Also, he was really rather standing still when Shammy took him to the ground and took his back.

It looked all very staged to me.

It's easier to RNC a fighter in their 40's since the scramble to their feet involves a three step process with the middle step being down on all fours in a slow transition to a vertical stance.  I'm sure SportScience would back this up.

I wonder if Ken would actually attempt something in their third fight.
