What weight? I don't see how Edgar doesn't make Faber his ***** for 25 minutes.

Wouldn't surprise me at all if Edgar finished him, especially at 145.

I use to think that Faber could pull this off, but after seeing how strong Edgar looks at 145 against cub, I now am leaning towards edgar. I think if Faber bring his A game this could be an amazing war. However if Faber does not bring his A game, he will get dominated. Even with his A game he will likely lose, but I think he brings enough to the table to make it a war.

If I am Faber, I would push for this fight at 135 to be honest.

There's no reason for this not to be at 140lb catchweight, right?

Edgar should just drop to 135 and clear the ******* division out. If his body handled the weight cut well, there's no one in that division that could touch him. Dillashaw, Barao, Faber. These would all be victims.

I don't see Faber winning this anywhere the fight goes ... I know, I know "but Alpha Male wrasslin' bro" ... I'm pretty sure Frankie's the better wrestler too ... more technical, chain wrestling is top notch, I don't see Faber doing to him what he does to so many.

As for the 145 or 135, I don't think size will be a factor in this fight, Frankie comes in as a small featherweight on fight night while as Faber always looks like a blown up bantamweight, neither will enjoy an overwhelming size difference.

They're both the same height, Frankie will have the same reach advantage he has over a ****load of featherweights and Faber will be the bulkier of the two, doesn't really matter how much they weigh in on 24 hours before the fight. If anything, at featherweight I believe Faber will look the bigger man in the cage. The only advantage Faber might enjoy fighting at 135 is that Frankie has never cut to 135 and he has, which is more a disadvantage to Frankie than an actual advantage for Faber if that makes sense. I don't believe in creating an advantageous situation merely by creating a disadvantage for your opponent without it actually mattering.

145 is an equal grounds weight for both of them and I'm sure Urijah will be happy not needing to cut those extra 10lbs he only cuts because of 145ers like Aldo, McGregor, etc ... no need to cut them fighting a guy like Frankie.

@Cthulhu, I agree, I too think Frankie would clean 135 out ... though he's got this pride issue where a lot needs to happen before he gets "chased" out of a division ....

I mean Barao's huge compared to him, TJ's taller and with similar body type, Dom is bigger, Faber, Assunção are bigger, Mizugaki, Caraway are all more or less his size ... all these top 135ers that seem to make weight pretty easily (except for Barao who does what I call "the Brazilian cut") and I believe Frankie creams all but Dom and he's injured for a while.

I think Frankie will want at least one more crack at the 145 belt before he moves down.

He'll most likely be Conor's first defense ;)

I don't really like the term super-fight if it doesn't involve two current champions (both with at least a few defenses at that) ... I feel the term gets thrown around a tad too lightly ...

I think Frankie has the advantage just about everywhere. Except butt chins - Faber has him beat there.

Edgar has advantage in standup as far as volume of striking and accuracy, but I think Faber has an advantage in power.  On the ground, Edgar is a better grappler, but Faber has his chokes.

Can Faber land the big punch?  Edgar's ground game is good as far as using his wrestling to stay out of trouble with good submission fighters, so, oh ****, this is going to be good either way, so I am looking forward to it.

EDIT:  Faber def. has the better camel-toe chin, but Edgar is from Jersey, so that's a wash.  I wonder if he's good at little league?

Faber didn't look so good in recent outings. For the first time ever, Faber's gonna taste defeat in a non-title bout. It will not be close and I do believe Edgar actually finishes Faber if this fight is at 145. At 135....eh....not as sure, 50/50 for decision/finish for Edgar.

@CthulhuJones Why Frankie Edgar doesn't drop down to 135 beats me.

He might arguably be the smaller guy come fight night against Faber, considering that both of these guys walk around 155 (as admitted by both in interviews) but Faber is ripped to shreds and Edgar isn't.

Ian McCall has even admitted that he walks around at approx. 151 pounds and that dude's a ******* flyweight. There are so many possibilities for Frankie Edgar in his career, which makes watching his fights all the more exciting.
