Risky fight for Shogun on short notice. Completely different style than Manuwa.

St. Preux's striking is so awkward and open for strikes.

I think this is an easier fight than Manuwa, honestly.

I think OSP will be too long and fast for Rua. I think OSP puts Rua to sleep.

Maybe Shogun will lose but what good does speed do when your technique is so sloppy.

What does being athletic or explosive have to do with being a black male?

well Nomad, a long time ago, white people went to Africa, and seen warlords with slave there, white people thought this was a good idea, and took slaves too. so they brought the slaves back to north america.  Since bigger, and stronger slaves, got them more money, they only allowed the biggest and strongest men and women have children, and the small and frail men and women did not. This is why, if you compare the average black person from North America (specifically America and Canada) to the average black person from Africa, the North American black person is significantly bigger and stronger.  Not only did this affect size and strength, it also affected muscle density. A black women has roughly the same bone density as a white man (ignoring Scandinavian people, those giant ************s are scary big). what does this mean? well, it means on average, the black North American male, is bigger stronger, and therefore more explosive in movement then.  Then there is also the stereo type that all black people can run, which is actually true.  If we look at how tribes in Africa hunt for there food, the actually chase an animal until the can separate one from the herd, then they would get there best runner to chase the singled out animal until that animal couldn't run anymore from exhaustion.  Since the best runners probably got the most food, they were most likely held in higher regard socially, therefore had more kids and passed down the ability to run, over thousands of years, since runner was such an important part of hunting and there culture, black people became very good at it.

Thank goodness I can't be objective in Shogun fights. Otherwise, this would be a tough fight to pick.

This fight just became super easy for Shogun ... I'm happy because Manuwa was going to KTFO him ...

I don't know about super easy but certainly a much more winnable fight for Shogun where he should be the favorite.

I thought that Shogun would halved subbed Manuwa. He does have a good ground game but rarely ever has had to use it.

I would love for Shogun to knock him out but I just have a funny feeling about this one, I feel like OSP could when this fight with his athleticism and a wrestle heavy game plan. Plus shogun was getting ready to stand and bang with Manuwa, OSP is a very diffrent opponent.

Seems like I'm in the minority here. I definitely think Ovince St. Preux is the tougher fight for Shogun. Not saying Manuwa couldn't have won, but atleast Shogun and Manuwa are good stylistic match-ups for one another.

On the feet Shogun has a clear advantage. But St. Preux can wrestle. If he comes in with a wrestle-heavy gameplan, he could win. Again; I'm not saying St. Preux is some awful match-up for Shogun. My KO2 prediction for Shogun is the same prediction I had in the Manuwa fight. I just think that, in terms of styles, Manuwa was the better fight for Rua.

even Maldonado knew that OSP should have asked for someone ranked higher.  who does that?

Did he go in to the fight expecting to lose and so had it preplanned that that's who he was going to call out?

either way weird, and shogun looked the worst I've ever seen.  he looked cold and was even off balance just throwing a simple leg kick. for his reputation and his health I hope he either trains more seriously (if thats what the case was) or retires to prevent further damage to him self.

which is a shame because a focused/Healthy Shogun could still be a really dangerous fighter.
