We're back!  Well, almost.  Before we really get cranking on the new season I wanted to put my new tier breakdown out there for everyone to look at and suggest any potential adjustments that the majority would like to see made.  I took the results of the tier voting from last season (found here) and tried to break them down even further, moving to a five tier system, while tweaking the approval system a little to reflect that.  So without further ado, the proposed new tiers:

Tier 1:  UFC, Bellator and #'d WSOF events.  Unanimous "No" to remove.

Tier 2:  Invicta, #'d Cage Warriors, ONE FC, #'d BAMMA, Titan FC, and all AXS cards (Legacy, MFC, CES and RFA).  Two "Yes" votes to count.

Tier 3:  Regional WSOF events (Canada is the only so far), EFCA, CFA (no events since Oct. '13), PXC, #'d Pancrase, DEEP Impact & Cage Impact, Shooto Japan Round's cards and Gig Tokyo, KSW, Vale Tudo Japan, M-1, Jungle Fight, Shooto Brazil, Deep Jewels, pro KOTC, RUFF, Road FC, BAMMA Fight Night, Cage Warriors Fight Night, and XFCi.  Three "Yes" votes to count.

Tier 4:  Any all pro card that isn't listed in the above three tiers.  By nature this will include many of the lesser known Asian, European and Brazilian cards.  Four "Yes" votes to count.

Tier 5:  Any mixed pro/ammy card.  Five "Yes" votes to count.

If any card listed in tier's 1-3 puts on a mixed pro/ammy card (I'm looking at you, RFA & CWFN) it gets dropped one tier for that weekend (props to @yoss for this idea).  And of course the number of votes needed to be included is out of the six team captains.

And speaking of captains, anyone who wants that responsibility let it be known here.  Once we have our six captains and make any tweaks necessary to the new tiers we'll get a draft thread up.

I vote yes on the tiers breakdown on all accounts. Great work there by head commish, we're taking what made last season run smoothly to another level.

One las thing (for now), this is also a great place to offer new things to vote on, so if you feel there were things you didn't like last season or things that could make the game better (maybe even add a couple more teams if we can muster up the manpower - would be a bit more competitive if say two teams didn't qualify for the playoffs, but would make the game longer).

Anyway, this is the place for suggestions of any sort.

Cage Warriors ammy bouts are pretty much never available to be picked because they don't publish the bouts prior to the event. So in terms of picking CWFC is all pro.

Not to make things more complicated, but I feel like if there's a mixed pro/ammy card that either streams live for free or is televised, it shouldn't take 5 yes's.  I know it's a very small amount of pro/ammy cards that'll fit the bill, but they are out there and personally I like being able to pick events I can watch.  Maybe a tier 3 or 4 caveat for watchable mixed cards with good streams, as I can think of a few off the top of my head?  If not no big deal, just an idea.

@Kbro, believe me, ammys cause problems in this game, that's why the more 'yes'es the more defendable they are. I think automatic demotion would be good since the minute a card has ammys it becomes lower tier from BLC standards. It won't be complicated. Ever since we introduced the weekly captains votes things have been going quite smoothly. I also trust in our captains that we'll get 5 votes on a good card with ammys. It happened last season with LFC and RFA.

@Ronwah, I was mainly referring to the Fight Night cards that CW does, but looking back I didn't notice that the ammy's weren't pickable for those.  I still am in favor of splitting CW into two different tiers, the FN cards are definitely of a lower quality top to bottom.

Yeah, CW always has ammy fights but for the most part you can't get any decent info ahead of the event on what the bouts will be. I asked Ian Dean and he said it was to take pressure off the fighters.

But yeah, the fight night cards are not as stacked as the numbered events.

Who knows, probably a CW fanboy who doesn't like anything bad said about them.  It's a great promotion, but it deserves to be split.  I remember last season when CW was a tier 1 and there was some fussing about a FN card needing a unanimous "No" to be removed.

@OMG's dead on ... CW and CWFN don't belong in the same tier ... anyway, we're hardcores, lower tier doesn't necessarily mean 'bad' to us, on the contrary, the lower tier events are our hidden secrets which only we watch :)

CWFN for life ... but on tier 3 ;)

I'm in.  Not specifically volunteering to be a captain, but willing to do it if needed.  If that makes sense.

I agree, CageSport should be at least Tier 3.

Pre-UFC home of Miesha Tate, Mike Chiesa, Bryan Caraway, Sam Sicilia, Trevor Smith, Anthony Hamilton, Lloyd Woodard to Bellator.  Just off the top of my head.  And many more shortly on the way.  100% pro fights.  Results always input live.  Belongs above the promotions that will encompass Tier 4 imo.

That's the purpose of this thread.  @Lopati and @Kpro both say tier 3 for Cage Sport.  What say the rest of you?
