Do you feel like when you see a fighter who lives in the same state as you (or internationally the same area of your country), you cheer for them just a little bit more?

In my case, I almost ALWAYS root for the fighter from Indiana to win.

Miguel Torres, Stephan Bonnar, Sean McCorkle, Dave Herman, Chris Lytle, Eddie Wineland, Jon Fitch, Brian Ebersole, Todd Duffee,

I root for them all unless they are fighting another fighter who I REALLY favor.

How about you guys?

definitely..Rory MacDonald is from my area, Denis Kang is kind of as well or at least spends time here.  Then it just goes but my country Stout, Cote, Hominick, Jabouin, Makdessi,  and Kaufman.  Bibiano Fernandes trains and lives in Vancouver so that persuaded me to enter him in my favorite fighter rankings

I usually root for the fighters from AKA considering thats where I live. I enjoy watching NIck Diazs fights. when he fights at the hp pavilion, the crowd always roars his name out.

Not sure if the Irish guys are from Northen Ireland or Ireland, if they're from Ireland, they're not part of the UK. Britain is Wales and England, Great Britain is England, Scotland and Wales, and the UK is England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. R1zla must be on an island off England, Isle of Wight maybe?

I don't tend to cheer for Anthony Johnson that much, same with Forrest Griffin.

i must admit i didn't know about him until looking into it a bit thanks to this thread (thanks @bassist) but apparently he trained at the HIT Squad in Granite City, Illinois, but only for a few months.

I definitely do. Guys like Billy Evangelista, Justin Wilcox, Larvar Johnson, Zoila Frausto, Casey Olson, and even Josh Koscheck live and/or train in my town. Having meet all of them and trained with most of them its hard not to cheer for them when they fight.

Its like Bas Rutten always says, K1 isnt as popular in America because there has never been an America champ and most people want to cheer for some body they can associate with.

Alan Belcher was a couple years behind me in school. Never met him, but he's a bad ass and I support him.

I root for Mackens, but rarely for Vera, for some reason I don't really like him
