I don't think Chael has a chance in hell to win the fight on such short notice, or even with notice, if he gets it (which he most likely won't since the UFC won't risk the Wand fight after building a whole TUF season on it) and what's so special about him is that I'm pretty sure he knows that too yet he still offered to save the UFC's ass and put a marketable face in front of Cormier on 10 days notice, even though it's not the best thing for his record (or his face).

Love him or hate him (I love him), that's one hellova man over there. That's called backing up his smack with a pair of giant hairy balls if you ask me.

My guess is that every fighter that's offered the fight will find an excuse just on account of the short notice ... that's how awesome Chael Sonnen is ... he ******* offered to take it!

I think they should offer it to rumble ... even as a catchweight or heavyweight fight ... they're both going to be circa 220lbs, both have fought at heavyweight ... **** weight cuts for this one, have diet-heavyweight fight. And on the subject of diet-heavyweights, I bet Nikita Krylov would take the fight too if offered, dude's ******* crazy :)

This would be a perfect fight for Rumble to take if he's conditioned enough for a fight, regardless the weightclass. Even Cormier said he be fine fighting at HW if it was Rumble.

@lorenzofertitta tells me he wants to keep @SugaRashadEvans Cormier fight intact. So with Evans injured, fight moving to April, off Feb. 22.

and I, for one, don't think this hurts this card much if at all. The only fight on this card that I was less excited for was Koch/Oliveira (and maybe Thompson/Whittaker)

I hope that is true. This fight is very important for both guys right now so any other opponent would not be benificial to either.

They should get a replacement. Daniel Cormier worked his ass off to cut the weight to fight at UFC 170.. now he has to wait 2 more months to reschedule the fight at UFC 172? Why? That isn't fair. ****, Patrick Cummins offered to fight him on 10 days notice.. why not let that happen. Cummins has serious potential and has wrestled DC before. Both guys have good wrestling, both guys have good (but different) striking. Why not?

They should still roll out a "can" for Cormier. Considering he's a two time Olympian, and this is the event to hype that. Plus still book him against Evans at UFC 172.

If the UFC doesn't keep Cormier on the card. They're ******* up bad.. I feel like they think Ronda sells PPVs.. no. This main card is pretty awful. Rousey has had some other big names on her two other PPV cards with the UFC. At UFC 157 she had Machida/Henderson, Faber/Menjivar, and Lawler/Koscheck. At UFC 168 she had Anderson/Weidman, Browne/Barnett, Jim Miller, and Poirier. If this card continues without Cormier it becomes awful. Yeah, sure. MacDonald/Maia is decent, but Thompson/Whittaker and Pyle/Waldburger? Those aren't exactly PPV sellers. Cormier/Evans was holding this entire card together.
