Brenneman and Rumble are matched up and he didn't get his rematch with Penn, so who does this leave for Fitch to fight in the near future?
Story?
Alves 3?
Kampmann?
Hathaway?
thoughs?

I doubt if condit wins they would give him to fitch.  Probably give him a title shot.  If penn wins I could see that, but who does he fight in the mean time?

Condit gets a title fight if he wins.

It might take a while, but the winner of Shield/Ellenberger could be a possibility.

I agree with most of what is being said, but are they really going to leave Fitch hanging until early 2012?  That would be absurd.  I hope the UFC gives Fitch a fight before a Penn or Jake (S or E) fight... just sayin

If Condit beats Penn they wont give him a fight with Fitch. They would give him a title shot. He already was next in line after Diaz but he chose he wanted to fight again so there is no chance they will make him fight Fitch if he beats Penn.

I think the best matchup would be Fitch vs Shields if he wins his fight

Fitch says he only wants to fight a guy who is currently or formely owner of UFC gold. So that leaves him Hughes, GSP, Serra or BJ Penn. BJ/Fitch isn't gonna happen, GSP has a fight so does Hughes. So it looks like Jon Fitch vs Matt Serra. Way to screw yourself on that one Fitch. Move to 185 where you MIGHT have a shot at the title.

i would say this that if fitch would just shut up, he'd be less likely to get ****ted on by dana....but i don't see how anyone in their right mind can dispute that he is the 2nd best ww in the world. gsp is the only man to beat him, what sucks for him is that he is the 2nd best ww and he has a slim chance of ever beating #1...what sucks more is dana doesn't like him so he keeps gettin screwed around

Fitch is hands down the #2 ww. He wins A LOT. But he won't fight Kos and he has practically no chance of beating GSP cuz he's not very well rounded. He should move to mw where there is a lot less talent and the champion there has difficulty with wrestlers.

i agree to some degree, fitch is just in a tough spot because he's not beating gsp. but he has deserved a second shot for a long time. i personally don't have a problem with him not wanting to fight kos unless its for the title. my advice to him would be to accept a fight w/ kos if its for #1 contender....i really hate the fact that dana treats him the way he does because he has morals and doesn't want to fight his friend, but to me if you'd fight a guy for the belt because having the belt is both of your dreams then you should fight him for the shot at the title.

if he came out and said he wouldn't fight kos under any circumstances then i'd support that, i know most fans wouldn't but i would...

as far as moving to mw, i'm not sure he'd do good there...i think he would be in the top 6 or 7. but i think he'd have a lot of trouble with guys like sonnen and munoz, and i don't think he stands much of a chance w/ silva...although i agree silva has some trouble w/ wrestlers. but he has beat some pretty decent wrestlers in henderson, marquadt, and sonnen

wat about a move to 155 for fitch? no clue whether he'd be able to make the cut, but seeing as tho he's a collegiate wrestler, he'd have a lot to offer at 155....jus somethin to think about

I agree, I think Condit-Penn winner gets GSP-Diaz winner (okay, gets GSP). Then Ellenberger-Shields winner gets Fitch. The losers of these fights will be matched up with Kampmann, winner of Johnson-Brenneman, and winner of Sanchez-Hughes. Mike Pyle and Rick Story are still in the mix, though I'm not sure how they fit in right now

@Pierce.. you're right and Fitch already mentioned his move would be to MW if he in fact did switch classes.
