He is on the road to recovery. Doctors say he is legitimately a walking miracle. They told him he wouldn't be walking for 3-4 months.. he started walking a week later. The missing piece of his skull will be going back in on Dec. 13th. He says he wants to fight when his skull gets back in and due to his ridiculously fast recovery, the doctors say it may be possible.

If he gets his skull re-attached and is still able to safely fight with the approval of his doctors.... that would be a hello of a comeback and inspirational story.

What...in...the flying ****.

Are you people crazy? I mean don't get me wrong, Grice has got heart and balls. Watch that fight with Bermudez and you'll see all of that.

But just look at that ******* picture...the guy is missing part of his ******* skull. The potential danger that could befall him should he get hit in the right place is way too scary to risk...I really wouldn't want an awesome fighter like Matt Grice to be the first UFC death.

As ********ed as this sounds, I hope a commission doesn't sanction him. The man is missing part of his skull.

yo, anik, it helps if you read the original post, haha. he is getting the piece of his skull replaced next month. clearly doctors wouldn't clear him to fight until he is fully healed.

If the doctors say he's ok to fight, he'll be ok to fight.  While it seems like it would be really dangerous EVEN THOUGH he's getting his skull reattached or whatever the ****, doctors know what they're doing.  If they had any concern about higher risk of brain damage or something I'm sure they wouldn't let him fight.
Matt Grice, holy **** he's a ******* badass

I guess maybe wherever the bone is fused and reattached it is a really strong bond, even stronger than before?

Still, this is all a bit premature. We don't have any legit sources of his real status.

Big Nog was run over by a truck when he was ten. 4 day coma, lost an entire rib, and part of his liver, and was hospitalized for 11 months. I believe in Grice.

I don't know man ... I mean, it would be a great story but I'm not sure I'm on board even with doctor's clearance ... I mean even if they replace the missing part and it heals properly, who can tell that it's healed enough to get punched on for an entire UFC-level camp and then again by a UFC-level fighter on fight night, and if that goes well, repeatedly for a few years ... if I were his doctor I wouldn't want to be the one who's signature is on that clearance bill ... no matter how well they attach the thing, it'll never have the same strength as a skull that hasn't been broken up.

It's a sketchy situation and as much as I feel for the guy and this is probably all he has to support his family financially I think this is one of those better safe than sorry cases where even if everything looks good on paper he should call it a career and do something else ...

Just my opinion.

Have to say I'm erring on the side of caution with this one. I don't want to see him fight again, but hope his recovery goes well. If Grice can return to near 100-percent function with his family, that's basically a miracle. Don't roll the dice. But hey, it's his life.

This was tough to listen to I could not imagine waking up and not remembering I had a wife and kid. I'm pulling for a full recovery but fighting again is probably the least of his worries
