evans will out wrestle ortiz, with ortiz having his back on the cage or ground for 3 rounds, stand-up will be almost non-exsistent.

I honestly can't see Tito winning. I mean I know that Tito should've won the first time but Rashad has improved rapidly while Tito has one win in five years.... I mean hasn't Tito admitted that Rashad has better wrestling? Evans is winning via better striking and the ability to wall and stall/ lan and pray.

I think it might take a little bit of time to get his timing back so that's why I got 3rd round. It may be sooner if Tito tries to stand with Evans. Ask Chuck!!

@ soccerkick - I'd love to see Tito get the win, but I think Rashad is just a touch more well-rounded.

People who know me from other forums - and I recognize at least a few of you here as those who do - are well aware of how I often trudge up old football stories to make an MMA-related point.

And I won't disappoint those people by doing it again here:

40 years or so ago, when John Madden was head coach of the Oakland Raiders, he would say this to his players before they'd play in an AFC championship game: "If you're going to lose, lose now.  No matter what you do, don't be the loser in the Super Bowl" - and sure enough, his players followed that "advice" six times over an eight-year period in the late '60s and early '70s, until finally breaking through in 1976 when Oakland not only got to the Super Bowl, but won it.

I hereby say the same thing to Rashad: If you're going to lose either of your next two fights, please, let it be this one.  No matter what you do, don't lose to Jon Jones - for if you do, you will never, ever recover from it.

But can Rashad beat Tito by lay-and-pray/wall-and-stall?

I don't think so.

how else does rashad win? sure, he's kayoed some ppl, but since he got ktfo'd by machida in may of 2009 hes had only two fights...both going to decision and both featuring an abundance of lay n pray...just ask thiago silva and rampage if rashad can hold someone down for 15 minutes

But Rashad won't be able to outwrestle Tito; he couldn't the first time, and he won't this time either.

@jersey dude just because someone takes another guy down and works for better position or punches the other guy in the face doesn't mean it's "lay n pray" Very rarely does "lay n pray" ever actually happen. If you really think Rashad did that in either one of those fights you seriously need to go back and watch them again. MMA is not boxing. If people watch mma to see a boxing match you're going to be disappointed most of the time. That's why it's called MIXED martial arts.

It's actually better for Rashad if he loses - since if he wins, he will not only get utterly destroyed by Jon Jones, but his career will train-wreck after that.  Two years from now, he will be a Division III college wrestling coach - and some would-be William Shirer will make a fortune writing a book entitled The Rise And Fall Of Rashad Evans.
