Poirier vs. Brandao

I like both of these guys. They fight with intensity and try to finish every fight. You can't ask for much more.

This will be Diego's 6th fight in the UFC and I believe it to be the first time he's failed to make weight.

If you were on one of the biggest cards of the year, and the first fight on the main card at that, you most likely would just take the 25% cut instead of pull out of the fight. Poirier has the right to be upset, but I also believe he has the right to call off the fight.

What I find funny is that this isn't an advantage for Brandao by any means. Yes, it's very unprofessional on his part, but he's always had cardio issues and him missing weight is more of an injustice to himself if you ask me.

Really, in my eyes, the bigger question is why was his car accident brought up the day of the weigh ins? Maybe out of fear that they wouldn't allow him to fight? I find it unfair to not contact Zuffa or Dustin and his camp about the situation. The backlash would have been less significant if he had been straight up about it, but he also may have found himself out of a fight on a huge card.

It's a crappy situation, but I don't think it'll change how the fight goes besides Brandao gassing earlier. If Diego blasts him in the first, I can only imagine the ****storm of threads that will emerge.

Anyone else read the article about why Poirier was so pissed at the weigh in? Apparently Brandao said he was going to stab him in the neck backstage! I could see why that fired him up, bad idea on Brandao's part.

Ya Poirier ratted him out. Brandao is crazy, I remember on TUF he got into it with Marcus Brimage during sparring and told him " Your mother will cry before my mother will cry."  So that's the second time he's threatend to kill another fighter that we know about.

Lol Diego Brandao bragged about packing a gun and selling droogs and threatens to cut people and everyone wants to cry about Rousey and Diaz's sportsmanship. Love this sport.
