The next season's UFC competition is here.

The UFC seasonal competitions are perhaps the most difficult to win. Information is abundant on almost every fight: betting odds, fight video and more will level the playing field. The winners will need to out-wit and out-analyze the rest of the website.

While few members are criminally insane enough to pick hundreds of regional fights in a single weekend, there are vast numbers willing to come on and throw down on some UFC picks.

Will it be a black belt to bring home the big prize, or an unknown orange belt who's been anonymous to this point but knows how to crush it on Zuffa cards? Only time will tell.

Reigning UFC competition champions:
- Spring 2012: tarzan
- Summer 2012: Kalibo
- Autumn 2012: chadderall
- Winter 2013: michaelsilva
- Spring 2013: Rahito

In addition to the Tapology points there is $500 of cold, hard cash given to the competition winner.

Pick well and good luck.

Well, I guess I couldn't have held on to first the whole time, but at least I was in first for 3 events. If I would've stuck to my original picks, I'd probably still be in first, but no...............I had to be a dumb****. I went with who I wanted to see win rather than pick rationally, and I knew better too. Oh well, shoulda, coulda, woulda don't paint the fence.

Picks I changed.

#1. Sonnen vs. Shogun - I originally picked Sonnen by decision, but then changed it to Shogun by 2nd round submission, because I was hoping to see the Shogun of old return, and this would be the fight to see it happen. Boy was I wrong about that one.

#2. Travis Browne vs. Allistair Overeem - Originally picked Browne by 1st round KO, but then changed it to Overeem by 1st round KO because I thought that the Overeem of old would return, and school Browne like how he did Brett Rogers, but oh no, Overeem without the...............well you know, will never return to the Overeem of old unless he has that kind of help. Sad, but true.

#3. Uriah Hall vs. John Howard - Originally picked Howard by decision, but I thought, well maybe Hall won't choke on the big show this time. Boy was I wrong. Looks to me like the guy that everyone was afraid to fight in the house on TUF, isn't so scary after all.

#4. Manny Gambruyan vs. Cole Miller - Originally picked Manvel by decision, but then I saw that the majority fo Tapology was picking Miller by decision. I thought to myself, "maybe they know something that I don't," so I picked Miller. I know better than to ever let my picks be influenced by anybody, but I succumbed to peer pressure on this one.

Had I stuck with my original picks, I would've finished 10/13 with 3 perfect, but no. Instead I had to be stupid and second guess myself on every single fight, and I ended up finishing 6/13 with 1 perfect. Add in the fact that I really didn't spend as much time making my picks on this event as I have the last 3, and I paid the price for it. Who knows.............there is still time for me to turn it around, but in the past, once you screw up big time in competitions like this, it's real hard to get back in the saddle.

****, ****, ****, ****, ****, ****!!!!!

Good luck everyone. Keep it punk rock!!!!

@Jay You're only 80 points out of first. Really, you're still right there. Get a top 10 finish in your next event and you're probably back in 1st. The fact that you finished in the top 25 in the first 3 events means you were allowed one really bad night.

Crazy to think that in 9 days 3 of the 4 remaining events will be over.

I've been looking at my picks and I am a horrible UFC picker. There's no denying it, I am terrible. It's a sad day for me, but I must accept it. 59 %  for UFC, 673rd place.

my UFC picks have sucked more than the usual, and it terrifies  me that 2 out of 3 events on the BLC this week are UFC cards.

I used to be at 56% on UFCs and now getting close to 60% . Personally Ive tried to quit thinking with my heart and picking smart. Its easy on UFCs to pick your favorite fighters even though they will probably lose. For example Ryan Bader is my favorite active fighter and I had to pick him to lose to Glover , before I would have picked Bader just because he has good wrestling and I want him to win.

I see what you are saying, there are definitely a lot of fighters I probably pick without thinking because I like them, not because they will win. I feel the need to pick a few upsets and that can cost me 2-3 picks, so if a favorite loses I am screwed. I have been focused on trying to call the underdogs, not doing so well.

You kind of need to pick some upsets if you're gonna win the $500. Doomsday was the most recent one I can think of. Playing it safe usually gets you a good %, but it doesn't win you the money. At least, that's what I noticed

the key to winning the UFC imo are the upsets there's always upsets in every card if you get them right it will set you apart from the herd if you pick them wrong you're in for a long horrible night

I've made a pretty big jump this week. Before the event on Wednesday I think I was sitting 550ish, now I'm up to 79th. If I hadn't bottled out of picking Pettis I would nearly broke the top 50!

I'll never win it, but it looks a lot more respectable now :D

1 event left and we've got some Tapology regulars in the top-10!!

I'm pretty happy with where I'm at personally.  I've had some really bad showings in recent contests.
