Brookins was getting lit up bad against Mike Johnson. Koch is a much more refined striker than Johnson and he won't gas out. I think this fight will be one sided.

A very tough fight for me to pick. Because I like both fighters. Brookins has all the grappling skills in the world, but Koch has some very dangerous striking. Brookins last loss is too a very dangerous striker in Jose Aldo. I don't think that Koch compares to Aldo, but then again he may very well be the next guy to challenge Aldo for the title. I will go back and forth on this fight. For now, I'm going with Koch by KO/TKO.

To me, this is an easy pick. I never became a fan of Brookins, and Erik Koch is simply amazing.

42% for Brookins really? Koch has crazy KO power and Brookins stand-up defense sucks ass, Koch by KO easy.

@swick.. Agreed. Johnson was unlucky not to get the finish against Brookins.

Brookins is tough and has a good top game but i can't get over how hittable he is, Koch is precise with his striking and hits with power at a distance.  I think its to early for Brookins to fight guys as skilled as Koch.

I'm not sure who to pick here, but I went with Koch because of his striking, and Brookins' tendency to get hit a lot.

Koch hits hard. Brookins gets hit a lot, and leaves his chin in the air, with his hands down. He didn't do well early against Johnson, until Johnson gassed. Koch likely won't gas, and this might not even get out of the first round at all. I think Brookins survives, but gets put away early in the second. I've got Koch by KO

Brookins is a good fighter and lets just say he's more than durable. Still, Koch is a talented striker with good defensive wrestling and good grappling who's always getting better.

When put up against a strong opponent, history has shown that the later TUF winners have lost their first bouts (Bader and a few others excluded), so I'm going with the trend and picking against Brookins

Difficult...Go with a striker or the Wrestler...for me Wrestler this time. Why? Well Chad Mendes was able to use his wrestling base to out perform Koch, and Jonathan Brookins made it to the 3rd round with Jose Aldo before being TKO'd (which is actually a complement) and survived the first rounds with Luis Palomino and Yves Jabouin before submitting them in the second. I feel Koch is a great striker and will dominate the first round, but I feel Brookins will take the following two rounds and my gut tells me a 3 round sub for Brookins or he gets a close decision. Koch has good BJJ and great striking. Brookins can survive great striking and has strong BJJ + strong wrestling, that combo is key for me. Koch should win if he can keep it on the feet, but this is unlikely.

Joe Rogan made this fight sound closer than it was. I think Koch did more damage, and won the fight. It wasn't a dominating victory, but Koch definitely won that fight. I think Joe Rogan needs to go back and watch the fight again. Brookins did not win a single round in that fight. I had 30-27 Koch.

Just happy the judges didn't give it to Brookins. He did absolutely nothing to warrant a win in this fight. Good to see that some people believe stuffing TDs > failed TDs
