Nog's had a wonderful career but I think Schaub puts him down in the first.

I think/hope this fight is a lesson for "points fighters". I see Schaub being "disciplined" (see: satisfied with a decision) and it coming back to bite him in the ass after he drops Nog in the 3rd, follows him to the ground, and brings at least a little bit of Nog's legendary status back by getting subbed via attempted triangle/sweep/guillotine while trying to stand.

Specific enough for ya?

Schaub has 1 decision win in his career...I wouldn't call that a "point" fighter!

No, I wasn't saying that he was only that I think he'll take that approach in this fight. Let me state upfront that I don't like Jackson's influence on (some) fighters: Rashad, GSP, Guillard. I know it's not a good idea to pick emotionally and I'm probably wishing too much for Nog to repeat what Rashad did as far as lack of ring rust but imo everyone is writing him off way too quickly and I'm not sold on Schaub yet. I think Mitrione would beat Schaub right now. Sorry to slam on your CO boy but he just comes across as very ****y.

And yes I know Schaub is with Grudge, not Jackson's.

I agree Jackson fighters aren't the most exciting to watch normally...I've seen some interviews with Schaub that I could see that he seems ****y (thinking he should get the title shot after this fight), but having heard him on the radio here he really seems like a guy who trains and takes his profession very seriously...He's 28 and he already doesn't go out with his friends and takes extremely good care of himself since his body is how he makes a living

Maybe it's a radio vs. video thing because almost every time I see an interview with him, he answers at least one question with a smirk.

i have no idea who to pick in this fight. ive been switching it back and fourth between shaub and nog. i still think nog has some left in him and the lay off will probably serve him better than people think. shaub is also very dangerous too. anything can happen but i think im going to stay with my pick i have now.

NOG surprises everyone with crisp boxing and eventually getting this fight to the ground and finally show Schaub he was a fool for thinking he could compete in BJJ with BIG NOG. (late change for this pick)

@bklettke I agree!! I still can't believe this kid thinks he should get a title shot if he wins

Still doesnt deserve a title shot in my opinion...he hasn't beat anyone noteworthy really. Cro Crop is on the down hill of his career and Gonzaga is no one special. If he beats Nog and then can beat someone else in the top 10 maybe its time to start talking but I think he should have at least another fight or two after Nog. That's IF he can even beat Nog!!

Thats funny...A 4 fight win streak in the LW division against not great competition (jury still out on Pettis) makes most think Clay Guida is the #1 contender...When Schaub puts Big Nog out to pasture with the bus he was petting...Schaub will then need a fight against a top 5 HW and that fight will should be a #1 contenders fight for Brendan

So you agree with me then he shouldn't get a title fight after this one if he wins lol

Yeah I don't believe he should, but a 5-fight win streak at HW is gonna get you in contention...I feel he'll be a fight away maybe Brock in his return fight
