So, I thought it might serve a purpose to create a thread for all the other contributions to each other's lives that don't fit anywhere else.
Do you have something that would enrich the community culturally? Maybe dance, comedy, nutritional, inspirational, arresting visuals? But please let's keep this positive, and appropriate to the general public.
Maybe a video clip of a movie, broadway show, highly unusual, utterly creative, a cutting edge piece of information, a new computer application, or something that would make someone's life better or richer.

Are you sure about that? That is not how I understand it at all. From my understanding they co wrote a number of songs. She did not write them her self. Also many of his biggest hits like sweet baby James, fire and rain ect. were written just by him.

Bee Gees
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bee_Gees
The Bee Gees were a musical group founded in 1958. The group's line-up consisted of brothers Barry, Robin, and Maurice Gibb. The trio were successful for most of their decades of recording music, but they had two distinct periods of exceptional success: as a pop act in the late 1960s/early 1970s, and as prominent performers of the disco music era in the late 1970s. The group sang three-part tight harmonies that were instantly recognizable; Robin's clear vibrato lead was a hallmark of their earlier hits, while Barry's R&B falsetto became their signature sound during the late 1970s and 1980s. The brothers wrote all of their own hits, as well as writing and producing several major hits for other artists.
Youngest brother, Andy Gibb never joined with his older brothers on records. Andy died March 10, 1988 at the age of 30 of myocarditis, an inflammation of the heart muscle caused by a recent viral infection which was exacerbated by his years of cocaine abuse. Maurice Gibb died January 12, 2003 at the age of 53 from a heart attack, while awaiting emergency surgery to repair a strangulated intestine. Robin Gibb died May 20, 2012 of pneumonia, leaving Barry as the only surviving Gibb brother.

Okay. I know that they sang some of her songs together, but from my understanding the ones he got credit for are the ones they co wrote. And I am positive a lot of his more popular songs like fire and rain and sweet baby James where written by him.

most sampled song is billy squire's big beat. its the bass that is sampled.
as for carole king she has written more than i ever thought. 118 hits. tapestry her biggest album sold 25 million copies and yes Mrs king wrote quite a few james taylors songs (lyric wise) and he wrote the music. so kinda both right. other big hits she wrote are " i feel the earth move" "Locomotion", which bill must of dance too cause thats a huge 70's song. she even wrote a few celine dion songs.

Most of the songs you are referring to were collaboration between the two and were duets. Out side "a friend in me". I don't know of any song she wrote that James Taylor sang that was consider a hit of his. James Taylor wrote pretty much all of his solo hits if not all of them. I am interest in what songs you are referring to in particular, when you say "quite a few" . Are you referring to there duets which were collaborations? In that case they really are not consider her writing his songs, since he co created them with her. He as much responsible for the songs as she was.
