This MMA community has many non-MMA threads already.  Music, Jokes, baseball, football, etc.

So, I thought it might serve a purpose to create a thread for all the other contributions to each other's lives that don't fit anywhere else.

Do you have something that would enrich the community culturally?  Maybe dance, comedy, nutritional, inspirational, arresting visuals?  But please let's keep this positive, and appropriate to the general public.

Maybe a video clip of a movie, broadway show, highly unusual, utterly creative, a cutting edge piece of information, a new computer application, or something that would make someone's life better or richer.

@Bill What about your Top 10 Hip-Hop/Rap...seems as though you couldn't be bothered with that culture...?

@Swick  I'll tell the truth.  The honest truth is that I know next to nothing about rap, hip-hop, hard rock, metal categories.  I really don't.  I'm not qualified to rank them or even have an intelligent conversation about them.

So, how could I place them?  I couldn't name a single song by a hip-hop band.  Just not familiar enough.

I regret I can not be of more service in this area.

Ive never been a fan of hipp hop/rap. Though Marshal Matters is a funny ass dude. Linkin park/JZ was pretty bad ass when they went on tour. Snoop/311 was badass as well.

 Alternative rock is amazing though.

@Swick  That is a Rock Top 10???  No Beatles, Stones, Presley, Dylan?

It looks like a Top 10 Hard Rock list.  Were you really serious?  I'm . . . surprised.

@Bill I put 'MY' Top 10...those are my favorites, not exactly how I would have it in a top 10 overall.

And also that was my point about the Hip-Hop/Rap thing...I for one love all your music posts and know the artists, but you want people nowadays to thumbs-up and respect all your old music, but you can't name 1 Rap artist which is a big part of this generations music...

Don't take this as an insult or attack from me at all...I'm just saying in a 'Culture' thread, maybe you should check out some of that side of it.

@Swick  I understand your point.  I have tried to get into rap, but it doesn't take me where I need to go.  It doesn't take me home.

I once found a single song I liked.  By Public Enemy.  It was He Got Game.  They covered "For What It's Worth" by Buffalo Springfield.

I don't even know if that would qualify for a rap song.

And I'm not pretending to be any kind of musicologist or expert.  Just a music lover.  Nothing more.

hard rock: Led Zeppelin, Judas Priest, The Who ,Black Sabbath and  Deep Purple.

classic rock: Pink Floyd, Rush, The Beatles, Van Halen and The Eagles

70's music: Wings, ELO, Billy Joel, Carole King, Neil Diamond and Fleetwood Mac

all my favorite music was from the 60's and 70's. its the only music they play in Tahoe casino's and Carson city casino's and 90% of Reno casino's

Carole king wrote more music in the 70's than any female artist
