Vieira's cut is understandable I suppose, but both his fights were pretty close/controversial. I hope he still fights on U.S. soil and not go into obscurity as he's a fun grappler to watch. I would definitely like him in WSOF.
As for Nunes, didn't see it coming... but his performance against Lentz was lackluster (but that's mainly because Lentz is a beast at 145). Lots of opportunities for him though and I'd like to see him join the ranks in Bellator. He could shake things up and there's plenty of great matches there for him.

@trev I would agree with you that it brings a certain level of 'eliteness' as long as there were some consistency in the criteria behind those decisions, the problem is that right now you can't say that only the worst fighters are being cut nor that those who remain are the best.

Before that he had 11 finishes in his first 11 fights before entering the WEC.
Lost 3 of his last 5 fights, including his last one.
I like watching Diego fight, but I can't say I'm as surprised as some people. People can say "Well why not this fighter, or this fighter?", but who's to say those fighters aren't next?

If you're too lazy, here's the rundown, they did an analysis of the percentage of fighters in the top 25 and the average rank by organization. Here are the top 3:
ORG Top 25ers AVG Rank
UFC 35.7% 74.8
WSOF 17.4% 79.3
Recent 18 UFC cuts 11.8% 122.2
That means if 18 fighters could constitute an organization, the UFC's recent cuts would be able to form the 3rd most talented roster.
