Couture's deal with Spike ended up coming an inopportune time for his son Ryan, who was brought over from Strikeforce to the UFC recently when SF was closed down. According to Dana, he texted Ryan Couture earlier this week and said that if he wanted out of his contract to go to Bellator, Dana would be okay with that. Ryan said it was his dream to fight in the UFC though, and he wanted to stay. Dana says he responded with "this is your house and I'm honored you said that". He was happy that Ryan was staying and wants him to feel welcome, but he also said that his father won't be welcome to corner him, or even buy a ticket to shows.

..................................................................

So on what grounds can he do this? i mean legally, on what grounds?

Bruce Leroy if that is true than why was Matt Hume cornering Mighty Mouse last weekend?  He is the VP of OneFC after all.

Askren is allowed to corner RoufusSport fighters at UFC events.  Grant it it is the only way Askren ever gets inside an octagon, but still a bellator champ cornering UFC fighters at UFC events.

Hell Rey Sefo is the President of WSOF and you saw Sugarfoot a few times last night and he'll probably be the one in Couture's corner

Oh a JM Barrie thread, this should be informative! Hmm, I wonder who's side I should take, the posters sharing actual cases and text out of law books or a made up opinion and a big gif of the constitution?

A company that provides a service( as basically all companies do) has the right to refuse service to anyone and everyone, it becomes illegal when you refuse service because of race, religion or sexually orientation, because that's discrimination . Stop trolling you clearly know nothing of law, your just another Keyboard warrior and I don't know why you haven't banned from this website because you really have nothing semi-intelligent to say.

Randy chose a Bellator contract and has sued Dana before...you think Dana takes that lightly? He can't come to the shows or corner anyone...that's kinda the deal when you go to another company. Fine with me...and good luck to Ryan in the UFC.

According to MMAjunkie, Couture blatantly lied to Dana White about negotiations with Bellator and Spike. Looks like Couture really screwed the pooch on this.

its not like ryan couture will be alone in the corner.  lets not forget who is father is, hes one of the greatest fighters of all time, he probably has a polithera of top tear trainers, coachs and fighters that can corner his son and since he wont be there he'll probably get the best.

All Randy has to do is by a front row ticket right by Ryan's corner and there is not **** Dana can do about it.

@lopati I wish I could remember a particular case, but UFC has removed people from their audiences (competitors or people they just have a beef with). If they don't want you there, they'll make you leave.  It's their event, their rules.

The UFC can decide who's in or out to their discretion..like Greg said, their rules. And people saying that Dana is taking it out on Ryan's career...he could of easily just never gave him a shot in UFC, he wouldn't have to explain it. Ryan should be glad he gets a chance and Randy didn't screw him over because of his decisions.

Randy is the one to blame in this whole situation...Dana and Ryan seem to be handling it in a respectful way.

All the people so mad at Bjorn and Bellator for how they've handled Eddie Alvarez...  my point to you is that this is just how any big promotion is going to behave. In order to survive/thrive they are cutthroat.

There is a difference between pissing all over a fighter's career and pissing all over a guy that doesnt fight anymore.

I honestly think this is just a "**** you" to Randy. I think they respect him as a business man and a champion so they won't say anything to publicly about Randy taking the coaching job. So this was there little way of letting Randy know they did not appreciated him going over to coach with Bellator.

Look UFC has the right, but in fairness to JM they don't enforce it evenly... Ben Askren cornered Antony Pettis a little over a week ago.

True, however Ben Askren was also not one of there poster boys, first two division champion, hall a famer and first coach of there reality show and is now going over to coach for not only there competitor, but also spike tv who has gone out of it way to give the UFC issues.
