It's not my favorite movie but watched this last night and it was pretty good.

And has anyone seen Ted yet?

It's a toss-up between Prometheus and Avengers for my favorite movie this year.

Recent movies I've seen:

The Hunger Games: Better than I thought it was going to be, but for a movie about teens fighting in a death match, it totally skimps on the violence and takes a long while to get going. 6.5/10

Avengers: Basically as great as everyone says it is. Lives up to the incredible amount of hype leading up to it. Everyone expected awesome action scenes but what kicks this movie from an 8 to a 9/10 for me is the script and dialogue.

Prometheus: Biggest disappointment of the year for me. Thought this was going to be a strong 9+, but boy was I wrong. I'm shocked as many people liked it as they did. Gorgeous visuals, cool atmosphere, great acting and performance by Michael Fassbender ... okay ... one of the worst, most laughable scripts I've ever seen in a serious movie, terrible plot, anticlimactic ending, stilted acting by many of the other actors, unlikeable characters, a total lack of logic employed by any of the characters in their situations, and overall a movie pretending to be intelligent and failing miserably at it. Apparently it tricked plenty of people though. 5/10

Ted: Funny and worth watching. Nothing much beyond that and won't be adding it to my collection. Not the biggest fan of comedies either way. 6/10.

Amazing Spider-man: Overall I thought it was the second best of the Spidey movies. It's been getting a lot of hate for casting Spidey in a darker light, but if you read the comics, he's really something of a tragic hero, moreso than the Raimi movies portrayed him. I was let down by the action sequences. I thought Spidey moved well and used his webbing in creative ways, but they didn't emphasize his strength enough for me and the fight scenes were just too run-of-the-mill. Wasn't a fan of the Lizard's portrayal either; thought the script was bad for him and his motivations were laughable. Poor cgi as well. Overall a 7.5/10.

The Raid: Redemption: Phillipino martial arts flick that's been generating a ton of buzz this year, and it totally lives up to the hype as well. Don't watch clips of the movie before you see it. Rent it or buy it on Blu-ray or DvD. The story is as straight-forward as it gets, and the fight scenes are the best I've seen in years. 8.5/10.

My favorites of 2012 so far

1.The Avengers
2.21 Jump Street
3.The Amazing Spiderman
4.Chronicle
5.Safe House

That is obviously just off the top of my head to go along with the movies I haven't seen yet this year..

I have a feeling The Dark Knight Rises will take the top spot when I see it because well... Nolan is a genius,Batman is a boss and Tom Hardy is a savage...oh and Anne Hathaway.... YES!

*AND YES... Safe House is a strange choice but anything Denzel is usually above average!

This is hands down my favorite movie of all time. I have probably watched it at least 100 times and I never get bored with it.
