i was just wondering what everyone else thinks, i think he should have fought Rua instead of jones but if he gets the win where dies that out him in the standings

i also agree that forrest should have got the title shot instead of bones......i think forrest beats rua and gets winner of rampage/hamill for title shot....but if it was for title shot i assume rampage would be a more likely candidate

If Forrest managed to beat Shogun again it could warrant him a title shot. But the LHW division with a new champ in place is wide open for contenders. Of course if Rashad beats Davis he will still get his shot which will leave the winner of Rampage v Hammill and Forrest vs Shogun closest to the shot.

@BigJ.. exactly.  If Rashad wins.. it will play out just as your last post mentions.  I couldn't see it any other way.

Winner of Rashad Vs Davis will get the next shot i reckon, Then the winners of Rua Vs Griffin & Rampage Vs Hamill will fight for the next shot. Jones will have a long lay off anyway. Which is perfect for the ufc because they will use him for publicity. Dont be suprised if u see Jones at almost every ufc event front row. Maybe even with Dana

No doubt who ever wins out of Rashad/Evans gets the next title shot.

The next set of matches are more interesting. If Griffin beats Rua but Rampage fails against Hamill then she should get a title shot. Of course if Rampage wins but Griffin dosen't then again he's next in line. With that said in regards to the last part however, if Rua wins and Rampage win, I would also love to see a match between them for the #1 contender spot instead of pushing Rampage ahead.

Poor Machida.. I say that b/c there really isn't a match for him unless it is a title shot or Gegard.  Jones is #1.  Rashad/Shogun are 2/3 or 3/2 depending on your rankings and he has fought them both.  Next is Rampage and Machida fought him.  There is no "move up" fight for him.

If Forrest wins let him fight Machida, but i give him little too no chance in that fight.

Forrest shouldn't get the title shot for beating Shogun again. Winner of Griffin/Shogun should fight winner of Hamill/Rampage. Hopefully Rampage gets the win like he should and we get to see him rematch one of them. I'd prefer to see Shogun/Rampage II but I think Forrest is gonna win.

If Rashad wins, he'll fight for the belt, no question. But if Davis beats him I don't think he'll get the shot, unless he wins in spectacular fashion. He's got an opportunity here, but it's still a long shot.

If Rampage wins he's next in line, no question. If Hamill wins there is certainly a marketing angle in that he is the only one to technically *beat* Jones (cough cough), but I think they'd make him win one more fight.

Regardless of who wins Griffin-Rua II, the winner should fight Machida. If it's Rua, it would be a rubber match. If it's Griffin...terrible stylistic match-up...he's one of my favorites, but I wouldn't give him a prayer against Machida. The winner of that fight should step to the front of the line.

So, to sum up:

1)Rashad wins, he gets title shot

If 1) is false;

2) Rampage wins, he gets title shot

If 1) and 2) are false;

3)Winner of Rua-Griffin fights machida, winner of that gets title shot

I can not see the 3) even being an option.  That would sideline Jones until next spring and he will be ready late summer/early fall.

I think Rampage should fight Machida again if he beats Hammil and if Forrest wins and Rashad win they should fight again, But I really wanna see Forrest fight for the belt again, at least we know the fight will be exciting to watch, Forrest has a great ground game and IMO if Jones takes him to the ground Forrest could get the sub

griffin should never fight for the title again. if andy made him look like a baby i can only imagine what jones would do to him.

jones is a different fighter than andy for sure, and i dont think forrest would beat andy in a rematch i think he has a better shot against jones than a lot of poeple.

i guess i should not be so harsh on griffin. anyone can have 1 really bad fight. maybe it just was not his night. he still should have not run from the cage.
