@arcon: Well, in fairness to Jones that's not really a good a good comparison.  Anderson isn't taking the fight with him on 8 days notice and it's not a title fight...or even a five round fight.  I'm happy the fight was scheduled, and props to both guys for agreeing to it though.  It will keep plenty of interest in the main event that wouldn't have been there otherwise.

@sgtblack79 i know, but Jones could have done the same thing as silva and taken a HW fight (jones fight night is about Randys old HW weight) or non-title fight to save the event... its not like Jones wasnt training and in shape and ready to peak that night

But thats not the point here the point is this will be a funny fight no mater how it goes and it just shows that both men are real fighters and have a lot of respect for the sport and the UFC

Why? You'd only get 85 bucks out of it. And he has literally no chance, NO CHANCE, of winning. People bet the odds too much and not the fight. Stephan could be +10,000 and it wouldn't be worth dropping a 10 spot on.

Guess? I'm Joey Oddessa.

@Messiah, yeah that's why fights like this are just good for parlaying. 10 bucks on Bonnar is a throwaway but on the other hand, I'm not putting down $1,350 to win $100 on Silva either. That's too much money to risk to make a hundred bucks, Silva could slip on a ******* banana peel or some ****.

The only bet worth doing would be like $1 on a parlay with him and a bunch of others off the card to make it worth it. But yeah even then it would be throwing $1 away =)

matt serra wasn't supposed to have a chance against gsp. sometimes things happen. i want anderson to win. he's one of my favorites. but if for some reason somethin happens i can buy a lot of beer with my 85 bucks, then drink it while i watch old silva fights :)
i usually do a parlay btw if i bet anyway. i won my last one! i hardly ever bet though too. i just think it's fun every once and a while

Comparing a GSP who was out partying, not focused and who just won the belt, to the Anderson Silva of now is ludicrous. And you can't buy a lot of beer with 85 bucks that you have literally no chance of ever seeing in your life.

You could however, go and buy 2 beers with that 10 dollars.

What chance does Stephan have really? He is as slow as Forrest Griffin, has never knocked somebody out in his entire UFC career. Was owned on the ground against a geriatric Mark Coleman, has literally no chance of subbing Anderson Silva. I mean there is no chance here, none. This is the biggest slam dunk in the history of the sport.

i didn't realize saying putting down just 10 bucks on somethin would get you so riled up. don't do it then. i'm your up arrow btw because i think you need it at the moment. you also need a drink and a high five.

gotta go with Messiah on this one. Regardless of the odds, Bonnar has nothing for Silva. Unlike Serra who had knockout power and great BJJ.

@brazilian jitz, thank you for putting it in a less bashing way. if i for some reason do put money on bonnar (i say i'd like to but probly won't get around to it), and i win (also unlikely), i'll send you 10 bucks haha

btw chael was ready to fight Jones, why not give him a third crack?
make it in 205 and not a title fight. and let brazil have Anderson vs Chael that was promised.
i mean theres even a popular comedy show in here that likes to poke fun at chael.
i bet there would be tons of interest from brazilians and i dont think people in here would care that it would be the third time.

@C_Arnoud: That's probably because the majority of people don't really want to see chael fight silva, especially so soon after the last fight.  It's also likely that Chael has no desire to fight Silva again because he knows the same exact thing would happen with the exception he might actually need facial reconstructive surgery this time.  You could see it in his face after the fight.  The bravado was gone...the hype was over.  He was beaten by a better opponent.  He knew it, and he admitted to it.

Have to agree... Sonnen has left Silva in his rearview.  He's already trying to talk himself into another title shot - this time with Jon Jones.

btw... Bonner is one tough man to step up against Silva with only a month's notice.  The odds are bit extreme here I think.

While I pick Silva to win, Bonnar could match up well against him.  This will probably be the first time that Silva has faught with a reach deficit and Bonnar has looked much improved in his last few fights.
