Since it's a slow day in the world of MMA, I thought it would be cool to talk about Tapology and ourselves.. anything at all regarding the same.  I'll get a brief start going..

I live in PA, am 30 and have been a fan of MMA since I was a teenager.  Work for the railroad and rarely ever miss an event regardless of promotion/stature.  I like Tapology b/c of the environment it fosters.  I wish we could edit/delete our posts... maybe have categories of threads for the forums, but all in all, I appreciate the type of place this is thus far.

I just listened to a conf call... they said for St. Louis it is the worst storm since the blizzard of 1982.  Is that true or are they blowing smoke?

Idk, its the most snow that we have gotten since I have lived here but it's definitely not the worst storm. The worst storm was the ice storm we had a few years back with several inches of ice.

went back to training BJJ today.

was tapped in an armbar at the end of the roll against a guy i tapped some five times.
then, i rolled with another white belt and got his back. i took my time and kept changing my leg position, preserving energy. tried to go for a RNC with one hook in and started to move. so i took a high mount and was planning on going for a triangle, but it was unstable. So i too the side mount, where he made a mistake and gave me the Kata Gatame. I didnt have much strength so i tried my best to improve the position so i would use my power just once. Guy tried to survive a lot, from my perspective it took me almost as much time as the Barão vs MacDonald one. But i tapped him and im glad people didnt pass me up too much.

My son is 4 and I was thinking about getting him into some type of MMA discipline with me joining as well for some daddy/son time.  What do you all think would be the best to start in (for him, since he's 4)?

Jiu-jitsu for sure @Kalibo. Or a solid karate school. Judo is pretty rough for a 4 year old, and I would never recommend MT or Boxing to someone that young.

Thanks @Danno... I was going to ask that exact thing about MT or Boxing... I did TKD when I was younger, so it makes sense.  We pass a school several times a week... he calls it "ninja school" b/c he sees the other kids going in "dressed up".  I may give that a shot and JJ.  Thanks again.

Anyone old enough to have heard of Jeff Buckley before he died?

what a shame. he had a great voice. His dad  died younger than him too.

@JM Barrie, I couldn't resist. Buckley is a character from the cartoon King of the Hill. He dies in a propane explosion.

So i'm watching Like Water , and it seems like too much to do with the Silva / Sonnen fight . I thought it was going to be a Silva Biography and it might as well have been a UFC Primetime special.

Go watch Fightville instead! I'm a big Poirier fan so I'm biased but still it's a pretty sweet documentary.
