Aldo is going to be bigger than Edgar... and faster. Much more interesting fight than Koch, but I have to take Aldo via finish.

Not only is Frankie not getting finished but he's not losing this fight either. Frankie takes this in the championship rounds and leaves Brazil as the new fw champ of the world!!

Better cardio

you could even argue Edgar is quicker.

I would argue the wrestling bit, Aldo has incredible takedown defense

Cardio? The only time I saw Aldo gas was when he had ****** weight cut and Edgar's boxing is WAYYYYYYY overrated. His defense has been lacking. In his last 4 fights he's gotten hit a lot. I have their boxing at least equal.  I did say Edgar wrestling is most likely better, but Aldo was stuffing Mendes like he was nothing.

Based off what is Aldo better then Frankie? Frankie has fought far better fighters and beat better fighters. Frankie has never been subbed nor KO'd and now all of a sudden a guy with 2 decisions and 1 KO in the UFC is going to finish a guy who's NEVER been finished. Frankie would whoop all the dudes Aldo has so other then opinion there is nothing to point to that would suggest Aldo is better then Frankie.

Keep underestimating the former lw champ and we'll see what happens at 153.

well, when have you seen Edgar gas? If Edgar can push the pace hard all five rounds, i could see Aldo fading and Edgar getting the DEC. If an oversized super powerful Gray Maynard can't put Edgar away, I don't see a Featherweight doing it.

It seems like Frankie could use his wrestling and striking to try and help. But I don't think that he is quick enough to catch Aldo's leg kicks, but it will be interesting.

But the big thing that can be a Big Help or a Big Hurt for Frankie in this fight is, his Heart.

Either he can use it to grind it out HARD with Jose

or his heart could get him in a fierce war with him on a bad receiving and he won't give up because of it.

But this fight can be exciting. I like it.

War Frankie, but I don't think he can go through with it. but WAR Fe.

I've never said I've seen Edgar gas. I'm still trying to figure out why people think Aldo will gas when he only gassed once in his entire career in a weight cut where he almost passed out hours before he weighed in. People really need to watch Faber/Aldo and Aldo/Florian. He still had a good tank going into those final rounds. I'm still wondering what Edgar is going to do about those leg kicks. Aldo's leg kicks are a whole beast to themselves and he is much much much faster than anyone Frankie has fought.

Also who has Gray ever put away? He has 1 KO in the UFC, the rest decisions.

Prediction: Aldo  |  Decision

I think this fight will be very competitive, but Aldo will be one step ahead the whole time.  His striking is a class above Edgar's, his wrestling is probably good enough to hang with Edgar, and his BJJ also out classes Edgar's. 

Edgar is very tough though. I'm sure he'll be able to use his movement to land some strikes, and maybe get a take down here and there.  I just see Aldo doing a lot more damage in the long run.  It might go the distance, but I think Aldo will be hurting Edgar throughout the fight, and is likely to get the finish at some point.

I dont want to overcomplicate it, but a guy who has beaten Jim Miller, Tyson Griffin, Sean Sherk, BJ Penn x2, Gray Maynard getting outclassed by a guy in a lower weightclass just doesn't add up for me. Aldo's competition is no where near as good as Edgar.

On that note, I still give it to Aldo. But lets use rationale here, this fight could be super close.

Also with this fight being in Brazil this could more Help Jose Aldo than Hurt Frankie Edgar in my opinion.

Brazil will support the hometown hero no doubt about it.

but Brazil will also respect the Former Champion if they do respect the fighting sport, then they would be good to Frankie.

one thing is for curtain is that Frankie will not be treated like Chael if he would go to Brazil.

I don't see why everyone seems to think Jose Aldo's BJJ is so good. he has only submitted two people in his career (one of which was due to strikes) and has NEVER submitted a top level fighter, and ontop of that Frankie Edgar has never been submitted and he trains with two very very good BJJ black belts.
I don't think Aldo has much of a BJJ advantage at all.

this is going to be awesome! frankie is a phenomenal fighter, but i think aldo is going to take it. he's just as fast, if not faster, and i think he'll utilize those insane kicks to slow frankie down. i think we're gonna see aldo runnin out of the octagon again and into the crowd to celebrate
