We get to see the first fighter from the UFC fight in strikeforce. Frank Mir takes on DC, which I think will tell us alot where DC stands with top UFC fighters. Idk if this is a sign for things to come,or is it just because both fighters are coming back to the UFC regardless of the outcome.

I guess we'll see. For fun say your Dana white and you agree to send a few fighters to test strikeforce. Only condition as long as its not the champ or someone close to a title shot.

What top guys in the UFC "that are not champs" or "in the mix" would you think to see test the strikeforce champs.

For example

Gray Manard vs Gilbert Melendez
Jake ellenberger vs Nate the great
Rockhold vs Rich Franklin

I'd probably send Koscheck instead of Ellenberger.

I doubt they will do this often. The reason they are doing this for Cormier is because they are trying to introduce him into the UFC with a win over Mir (UFC title implications).

I doubt they would allowed Maynard, Ellenberger, or Franklin to come over because they are all able to be in the title hunt for their respective weightclasses, while Mir just lost to the champ and will not get another shot for a good long time.

Melendez/Alverez is probably the best match up we could see being that I can't see Alverez staying in Bellator after his fight with Patricky Friere.

Mousasi vs any real competition. Please! I don't think he;s top material, but he has wasted his talent so far

Mousasi vs Gufstafson (spelling?) -nice striker battle
Rockhold vs Sonnen (both just fought)
Marquardt vs Nick Diaz (would be awesome) -but since Diaz is on suspension my other pick would be Kampmann
Melendez vs (lots of choices here) Pettis, Maynard, Guillard, Miller, and so on...

All those fights you guys picked would be better than any fight strikeforce can put on. It's highly unlikely that this will happen, but if they have no plans of merging into the UFC what are some ways they can attract more talent?

How can Strikeforce attract more talent? That's a good question. Maybe start knockin off the Bellator champs, signing UFC cuts, that would be a start.

Yeah they definitely need tested before they are handed a title fight in the UFC. There is not enough top notch fighters in Strikeforce to go around and their champs need to cross over and see what they are made of.

@SoccerKick It was a really close decision in my eyes though, I don't see anything wrong with making that fight again. They're thinking about Thomson/Melendez 4 but Guida/Melendez 2 would be better.

Gil crush Maynard?..ya I doubt it. I think Gil would be the underdog in that fight. I don't know if we'll ever find out. I guess we have to settle with Gil vs bam bam. I almost fell asleep typing that.
