THE "EXPLAIN YOUR AVATAR" THREAD

Thought it would be fun to ask everyone why they chose their specific avatar.

I might as well lead it off, and in my case it's actually quite a convoluted story: For those who are not familiar with Tarot cards, my avatar is that of one such card - the Ten Of Swords.  Traditionally, it denotes an impending train wreck, meltdown, "falling apart like a cheap suit," etc., when it comes up in a "divinatory position" within a reading (there are several popular formats for conducting Tarot card readings; in the most common, known as the "Celtic Cross" format, ten cards are turned up, and the sixth card is said to predict the immediate future, with the 10th and final card speaking to the ultimate outcome of the scenario, or specific question, the person whose cards are being read is seeking the answer for). 

Recently, I wrote an article for Bleacher Report about how so many UFC fighters have in fact "fallen apart like a cheap suit" after losing a heated grudge match, broadly hinting that Rashad would be the next fighter to fall victim to this fate; I even went so far as to have a friend of mine photoshop Rashad's image on the Ten of Swords to use in the article, to drive home the point graphically.

However, a modern, and more sanguine, interpretation of the card (modern "Tarologists," like their counterparts in astrology, tend to be compulsive Polyanna types) is that it means that "Major changes are on the way, and resistance is futile.  A path clears itself, giving way to something new" - which could indeed by the way it turns out for Rashad, if he has enough common sense to move down to middleweight!

I chose my specific avatar to represent the Sons of Tapology team for the ITL contest, the reaper logo is from the tv show Sons Of Anarchy which I happen to really like. (Oldmangloom came up with our team name!) I should also add that swickotine made the avatar I currently have as well!

AV bet loss

Sometimes dinosaurs mouth off, and Dave Chappelle puts them back in their place. 

My avatar comes from the fact that my laptop used to be my cousins and this photo is literally the only one I have of myself on said computer.  

Plus, who doesn't love ugly sweaters?

I drew mine some years ago when I was really bored.  After creating my Tapology account I needed a profile picture to get some extra points and I didn't really have many on my computer so I just chose this random one.  I like the colour orange too..

I've had an Andy Murray avatar for so long now that I can't change it. I'm definitely one of those people who is inextricably linked to their avatar.

Oh by the way. Am I the first person on tapology to use the word inextricably? Is there an award for that? :)

oh **** I just read the thread title, looks like I'm gonna be using this thread a lot...

for those who don't know, I change my AV once every 3-4 days (I've had this one for 2). This AV I got right now is The Weeknd's (R&B singer) critically acclaimed debut mixtape "House of Balloons". The pictures are just the song artwork of each single, alternating. I think my AV's the only Tapology AV with nudity in it, but I don't think Greg's noticed it...yet.


@wolfmanhowl old man, you can't spell our correctly. How are you supposed to spell inextricably correctly?
