as long as he wins that is good enough for me. i think his stand up game has gotten better but i still think he gets the submission.

Very interesting fight to try and predict. I'm going Maia because I suspect Munoz won't be able to get away from him, and at one point or another will be on his back trying to scramble out and could get caught.

Prediction: correct Muñoz   correct Decision

Well, when i first heard of this matchup i thought that Munoz will be a great underdog bet. Now, he seems to be the overall favourite and Im not so sure about this one anymore tbh. However, Ill stick with munoz as i expect him to be the one who decides where the fight takes place. Im not sold on his striking tbh, plus Maia stood 5 rds with Anderson, so i wouldnt be surprised to see this going the distance. Munoz D

I can't believe one judge had it 30-27, Maia dominated that first round.

Ridiculous scoring in this fight and the Omigawa fight.

The fact that some judge scored that fight 30-27 for Munoz is just insane. Maia had Munoz hurt in round one and clearly took that round. All-in-all, I was very impressed with Maia's striking. He looks like he has elevated his game significantly.

I thought this fight could have gone either way, but a 30-27 scorecard for Munoz was over the top.  Maia clearly took that first round.  I still need to see some replays of the punch that wobbled Munoz.  Maia musta just hit him perfectly in the right spot.

@jaffa, that would be interesting to see. Does he cut much to make 185? He is definitely not a thick 185.  I think GSP's athleticism would be just to much for him to handle.

That would be interesting to see Maia at 170.  I wonder what his walk-around weight is?

i cant imagine he cuts that much, hes not a huge MW as it is.........if WW is possible i definitely think he should see how Diaz fairs against GSP and if diaz does well but still loses he should move down because his BJJ is on another level compared to diaz's imo and his stand up is improving rapidly!

@ jaff - that's not a bad idea. Maia could be the next big thing @ WW, and with his improved stand-up Marquardt/Maia II would be a pretty good seller either as a co-main event or headling a fight night, TUF finale, or UFC on Versus card.

I forgot that Marquardt is moving to WW. If he can make 170 then Maia definitely should be able to make it.

well its not if marquardt can make it but if he can fight efficiently at WW and still keep his gastank/power,im not entirely convinced that he'll be able to but im always prepared to be proven wrong!
