I thought Clay Guida got robbed. Clay Guida showed that he has great cardio while Gray Maynard showed that he's pretty damn slow to catch Guida. Guida had more laps and clearly won the race.

You have balls for posting this thread.  Currently Tapology is being swarmed with a bunch of internet warriors that feel hate for a man that they've never even met.  There's nothing I can say that I haven't already said in the other thread.  The fight was boring, neither guy did anything, Maynard puts his hands down and takes a few shots and all of the sudden he's the best thing that ever happened to MMA for 'beating' Guida.

The same judges that were doing Pacman/Bradley did this fight. I guess even if you lose a fight you can cry your way to a split decision.

Maybe Clay didn't .......dominate, but what the hell did Maynard do except make an ass of himself throwing the middle finger ala Nick Diaz.

Sorry guys, Gray took rounds 2, 4 and 5. Guida had almost no offense for the last three rounds.

Great strategy from Guida, terrible execution...Maynard was wiffing on everything early and Guida was barely throwing anything. And his attack wasn't varied at all, he'd just throw punches...no leg kicks, no attempts at takedowns....Dominick Cruz sans effective offense....no robbery here, the fight was Clay's for the taking but he didn't take it.

Just demand that your opponent fight the way you want them to and not only will the ref help you out with a warning, but the judges will also hook you up on the score cards.
And I loved the fact that even though Mirgliotta didn't even see the "eye pokes", he still stepped in on Maynard's behalf.

I think Guida won, but after his "gameplan" I really don't care that the judges didn't give it to him. I'll say it again Guida fought a very good 1st round, then he just didn't fought, but Maynard couldn't do anything in the fight either.  I would've loved to see a NC. but I know that just wont happen ever.

FresnoMMA: I have nothing against Guida personally. It's just that Guida didn't try to engage for 99% of the time in the latter rounds. That's the difference between Guida fighting Maynard and Condit fighting Diaz. I would concede and say that Guida and any fighter can do whatever the hell he wants if he believe that the strategy gives him an advantageous edge whether it's lay and pray or run and play. The way the fight played out was a let down from my expectations obviously.

He's had some epic fights but he's also had some really shxtty ones. Pettis, Maynard, Gomi are all examples of the boring Clay Guida.

Incidentally... I had it...

First two rounds to Guida
Last three rounds to Maynard
It was a close fight that I thought could have gone either way.

In other words, Guida had the gameplan working early as an outside fighter when he was actually trying to engage.

I had Guida taking the first two, then Gray taking the last three. If Clay fought the way he did in the first two rounds, i wouldn't have cared. I don't think he did much of anything in the last three rounds. Don't really care, it was close, so whatever i guess
