Was it just the buyout that postponed the 2nd round, or are they having legitimate problems making this thing come together? I don't really buy the "We needed more time to promote it" excuse and I think it would've been pushed back with or without the buyout.
Does anyone think they have anything resembling a reasonable timeline to get this done?
I personally think we may never see the finals ever happen.

I think they just screwed up finding locations. First it was supposed to be in Japan, then they couldn't do California cuz of Josh Barnett, and so it got delayed to June in Dallas where they don't care about drug tests I guess.

i wish they wouldve done it in CA, NORCAL. i dont want to keep watching nick diaz defend his title in the main event all the time. i wanna see monsters like Overeem or BigGoot fight.

Either way it highlights the risks in a multi-event tournament structure. Everyone gets excited by the possibilities at first (no doubt I'm still excited) -- but then your biggest star gets bounced in the first round (fedor), and there are delays between the events, and inevitably people will get injured and need to pull out . . . it's a hard thing to pull off for a promotion and you need a bit of luck for it to go well.

i dont believe the buyout had anything to do with the postponement strikeforce to me is a decent promotion but its not all that well ran honestly i dont see the point of them doing the tourney anywas as i dont see them really growing as a brand theyll forever now be the land of ufc cast offs n misfits
