In any compeition the best can be beat on any given day...Jones will be upset in the LHW divison, but its gonna be Serra-like...Someone that has some power in his hands and can catch him (Rampage)

Jones is being aided by an age-old effect in sports. The new guy with great talent has an amazing first season, or run to the title. We see it in baseball all the time with young rookies. Pitchers don't quite know where to put the ball or batters have never seen this new pitcher's stuff before, and suddenly we're all crowning this guy the Next Big Thing. Then next season comes around and the scouting report is set and everyone gets brought down to earth.

The report isn't in on how to beat Jones yet, but at some point a weakness is going to be exposed. I don't want to sound like I'm poo-pooing the man. He does look incredible and there is certainly massive potential, but it is important to remember why runs like Fedor's and Silva's are so special. It's terribly difficult to remain the best in the world.

Incidentally, this is why I have GSP ranked first pound-for-pound. We've been shown how Anderson can be beaten, even if the fighter to implement the plan hasn't been found yet. I honestly have no idea what GSP's weakness is.

Silva has cleaned out two weight classes though, that puts him above GSP for me. :)

The guy that can beat him needs to get there first. Machida. With his fighting style, I can see him frustrating Jones with his movement. Especially if the fight goes 5 rounds. If Jones has issues getting him down, it would be a problem for him. At this point, I don't see Jones losing to anyone though.

@Yaspaa what other weight class has Silva cleaned out? I know about 185...I'd hardly call James Irvin and Forrest Griffin cleaning out 205...and he's fought around 170 early in hs career

Interesting to see all your guys thoughts. the main challengers to Bones are all different and it would really be interesting to see what itll take to beat him. Shogun was too small for him and not good TDD. it didnt help that he would just block instead of using more head movement.

I hope Jon Jones can break the LHW curse. But i see him having trouble with guys like Rampage and Machida.

If he doesn't get destroyed in the process and somehow manages to bring Jones to the ground, I think Roger Gracie has a good chance of submitting him from either the top or the bottom.
