What is your favorite submission and why?

Mine has to be a classic rear near naked choke or a gogoplota because i love the technique of the go go and the rnc is just bad ass as you have their back and sink in the choke.

I have long arms, and guillotines and RNCs have always been my go-to submissions.  As far as watching, I love to see a finish by kneebar or triangle.

guillotines can either be blood chokes or air chokes. Its okay to be either, because youll either put someone to sleep with a bloodchoke guillotine, or youll tap someone from sheer pain with an air choke guillotine.

but if you want the blood choke you need to get their throat (trachea) in the crevice of your arm (elbow) your bicep should be choking one side of the neck, and your forarem with another. the grip doesnt matter all too much. based on preference and how deep the choke is/ what grip is available.

I've taken a couple BJJ classes but I can't afford to go full time.  For now I just grapple with friends when I can.

@Joe Kerr, I love doing the banana splits in wrestling, if someone feels it coming then they start flipping their **** and give up position

I pay an arm and a leg for my memberships, but its one of the better investments ive made. Its so relaxing, great pastime. Also, BJJ is a GREAT workout. Itll definitely get you in shape. plus, I have so much confidence now whenever **** goes down.
banana splits are great. You just have to hope your opponent isnt really flexible.

here is the nicest example of a bana split.
Typical set up. you sneak one hook in, and try and fool your opponent into thinking your trying to get a second hook.. but you take there legs out from them, front roll, and grab the leg and bam.

go to 4min and watch the beauty.

This thread was short lived but I'm throwing in my 2 cents. I really love D'arce and anaconda chokes. They are very effective when someone turtles up but are rarely capitalized on. From a versatility standpoint, armbars are great. There are very few positions that you can't get an armbar from

Surprised i never posted in this thread before. The omoplata seems to be my favorite. I use it fairly often in BJJ. You normally just get sweeps with it, and it sets up other stuff. If you land it, it's a sweet sub since you don't see it often. I actually love almost any sub that takes place in guard, just because it becomes so hard to do at the higher levels of BJJ and MMA.

I like the twister because it's actually a amateur wrestling move that I learned in high school wrestling.  I hate the name "twister", though.  Weirdly enough, in wrestling it's called a guillotine.

So many to choose from. Gotta go classic armbar with the anaconda as a close second.

I'd have to say the anaconda. Especially when Mr. Wonderful sinks it in. It's a thing of beauty.

Davis has a nice one. I think Nogueira vs Herring when I think anaconda. Come to think of it, when I think armbar, I think of Nogueira vs Sapp...That Nogueira...

Rear Naked Choke:

Peruvian necktie. I instantly became a fan when I saw CB Dolloway choke Joe Dorksen with it.

I don't know the name of my favorite sub, but a few others I dig are:

1. Twister ('cause its the sickest thing to see pulled off)

2. Peruvian Necktie ('cause ya just KNOW it hurts)

3. The Puppet Master ('cause its slick as spit)
