With that being said, I purpose the question "Are we entering an era in which fighters can not safely or healthily train for their opponents during a camp?"
Personally, I believe that the injuries are a factor in the sport and always will be.
However, the increase in injuries, especially to top tier fighters is being caused by over training.
It seems that every other main event is being altered and changed at the last minute due to an injury.
Vitor Belfort, Georges St Pierre, Brian Stann, Anderson Silva, Thiago Silva, Thiago Alves, Dominick Cruz, Jon Fitch, Hunt, Gonzaga, Griggs, Dunham.
Do you get my point?
These are champions, contenders, top tier fighters, fan draws.
I'm no expert, but this HAS TO BE hurting the UFC's progress and business.
Correct me if I'm wrong.
I think it's time for monitored training for UFC fighters.
Any ideas?

One of the contributing factors, without a shadow of a doubt, is the new insurance policy that the UFC have given to thir contracted fighters. Up until the Insurance policy, if a fighter pulled out of a fighter, regardless of the reason, they did not recieve any monies. Now, fighters can pull out of fights and still get compensation. I think the injury problem has always been this was, but it is now manifesting itself through the insurance policy. As a sport that amalgamates different disciplines, so does the amount of possible injuries accrue. I do not think there is any way around this.

Of course this is not every fighter choice JDS fought Cain with a knee injury, but I bet that if he wern´t fighting for the title he would have pulled out.
I want to make clear than in no way I´m judging or critizicing the fighters I´ts just the way I see it, imo those are the reasons that a lot of fighters are pulling out of a fight...if they are not at his 100% or close they are probably going to lose because of the competiveness of the UFC and that will cost the more money than if they pull out
it´s all about the $$$$$
