Has a few big wins in a short career. Mir, Handy, Herring, Carwin....I personally wanted to see him fight a few more times and see if he could ever actually be comfortable taking a punch. I was not of fan of him, but I do think he should be considered for HOF....

2 down votes, obviously from 2 people who jumped on the UFC bandwagon and probably sport TapouT and Affliction shirts while never setting foot on the mats or in a cage themselves.  Jens Pulver all but paved the paths for the lighter weight classes that bring in some of the most talented and exciting fighters in the sport today.  He was constantly under-rated and overlooked.  We're talking about the UFC hall of fame here, so his recent lack of success as a journeyman don't play into the decision making process.  It happens all too often with legends of any sport that they don't know when to stop.  Pulver fights purely for love of the "game," and has surpassed winning and losing, IMO.

Jens Pulver fought the best of the best in his weight classes, and has fought and defeated others who undoubtedly will go down in history in the UFC hall of fame. Pulver, without a shadow of a doubt, has earned hall of fame rights.  Brock Lesnar walked into his championship bouts because of his household name, and didn't work his way up from the bottom.  He also never took 200 dollar pay days.  Pulver worked his way from obscurity to fame, from the bottom to the top.

does someone have to have been on the mats or in a cage to have an opinion on this matter?

My point was that they were people who obviously got involved in the whole UFC craze after the Pulver hay days.  But thanks for your response.

what i think that he is trying to say is. that he does not like the people that don't under stand the logistics of everything... aka the tap out shirt posers that can only referring to fighting as "ohh i fight in UFC" not i fight in mma type ****. i can't speak for him but i think thats what he was trying to say. and from Brock comparing to Jens in accomplishments he makes a case for jens

I agree Jens should be a shoe in for the UFC HOF.... As well as BJ when he decides to call it a career officially. My question was just if you thinkthat in Brocks short career, did he do enough? Were his wins big enough to get in? With the limited experience he had, was wins over Mir, Carwin, Handy(randy for Capt Obvious) enough to be considered??

I know what you're saying about Jens...I think it should be a requirement for people to watch his documentary...my opinion on Brock is his UFC accomplishments in the cage don't make him a HoFer, but being the draw he was could make a case for him being in...

I actually got involved over 15 years ago... and I still believe for certain reasons that Brock should be considered.

I think Brock is a quitter, personally. When the going got tough, he got the **** out of dodge. I never liked him, never will. But I do respect his wins. For me I also think Chris Lytle is an obvious choice. Dude can to fight, every fight, every night. Was lucky enough to see him fight live once, at ufc 55... loss to Joe Riggs

"has surpassed winning and losing" no fighter's surpassed winning and losing.

Well Ken Shamrock is in, so Jens might as well be. Ken's in so Brock should be in too. Ken's in so we could throw Matt Serra in there also, and Sean Sherk while we're at it. Ken's in so we could even make a case for Jon Fitch and Kenny Florian.

Ken's in, so the floodgates have opened.

People have unjustly accused Ken of throwing that fight because of this gif.

This gif shows the story a bit better.

Ken was trying to drop for an ankle lock, but timed it poorly and got caught with punches. He actually ended up getting the leg lock anyway, and did some real damage to Franklin's knee before Franklin escaped and got a TKO.

This gif shows the leg lock.
