George's camp takes in this bright young prospect who has been on a tear lately. Only a matter of time before he's next in line for a title shot. They say they will never fight. Reminds me of something that happened once...

Rory MacDonald is the only welterweight that I could think of that could have a chance to beat Jon Fitch.

Which means he should be getting a title shot soon.

I think Rory McDonald vs. Jon Fitch would be special, amazing and epic.

But Dana White can never risk letting Fitch have such a strong case for a rematch.

@ben - Yeah, the circumstances are similar, but there's no telling if it will go the same way.

@ben There had been some talk about it previously, and during last night's press conference Rory hinted that GSP might move up if the UFC was trying to line up that fight for the title.

1. GSP is scared of Silva and has all but admitted as much.

2. Silva is scared of Jones and Jones would rather have Silva as a mentor than someone that helps build his legacy.

There will be NO superfights, my friends.

Yeah the way fighters are getting when people say that they should fight this guy or this guy is getting really bad, when i hear that jones would not fight silva because he wanted him as a mentor, it makes me lose a little respect for a fighter when they have to look at the emotional part too much.

Jones' situation makes sense though, Silva is pretty close to retirement, I'd rather have the guy on my side for the rest of my career than hating on me because I outamazinged him. Would be the single most epic fight imaginable though. But on that one even I say **** the fans, haha.

If GSP is the man I think he is, he will at least consider moving up and finishing his glorious career fighting UFC MWs.

I think he does think about it.  I think he is 'scared' of fighting as formidable a foe as Anderson Silva.  There is no disgrace in being scared.  Only disgrace is allowing it to control what you do.  If GSP is afraid of Silva yet STILL moves up and fights him, that is all to his credit, don'tcha think?

I also think Anderson Silva is terrified of fighting Jon Jones.  And I don't think he will consider fighting him.  He's letting his fear control him.

For the sake of his legacy and the good of MMA, I urgently encourage Anderson Silva to first fight GSP at MW, then immediately move to LHW and finish his career fighting the UFC LHWs.  That would be epic of biblical proportions, don't you think?

And Jose Aldo should move to LW and finish his career there.

It would be good for MMA if GSP moved to MW, A.Silva moved to LHW, and Aldo to LW.  Reinvigorate the entire UFC structure for potential matches.

But maybe, just possibly, the Long Arm of God is not allowing these amazing things to happen until Dana White repents of his Jon Fitch sin.  Dana is still Fitching Jon.  There can be no redemption without repentance.

There is too much on the line with them. BJ Penn did it with GSP and it didn't work out so well for him. He won the first fight (despite a bad decision in GSP's favor) based on GSP ACTUALLY fighting back then. Since he knows fighting is dangerous he no longer does it, so he bested Penn. No one with a legacy will put it at risk. The last ones to do it were GSP/Penn and Chuck/Wandy, and I am glad no one got KO'd there.
