Bellator announced the welterweight pairings in the semi's.

Good vs. HawnHieron vs. Weedman

What do you guys think of these match-ups, and who do you have winning? I think this is solid matchmaking.

I think there's a good chance of it being Hawn vs Hieron in the finals. Hieron has to be considered favored over Weedman, he's just been competing at a higher level in MMA for so long.

As for Lyman Good vs Rick Hawn, Good will have a size and strength advantage that normally might be a problem. But this is a fight where Hawn might really be able to use his judo to good effect, and negate a lot of Good's advantages. I'm not really confident in this pick though.

If Hawn fights smart, I think he has more tools in his arsenal than Good. If he tries to turn it into a boxing match, Good will pick him apart with faster, straighter punches.

I like these fights because I want to see Hawn vs Hieron in the finals now that Dan's out.

I agree if Hawn fights smart and uses his Judo effectively he can take this fight.  His striking looked good against Wallhead, but Good's striking might be a little much for Hawn.

Not giving Weedman much of a chance against Hieron.

I wonder if they're trying to set up Hieron vs Good in the finals. Weedman is no doubt the weakest link in the tournament, and Hieron is probably the favorite, so I definitely see him in the finals. The Good vs Hawn fight is a very solid matchup, I want to see if Hawn can use his judo more successfully in this fight, Wallhead kind of cancelled his judo out, but he did get one trip, and of course, it worked great against Maynard, so I'm curious to see how it will work against a top level (not judoka) fighter in Lyman Good. I was hoping to see Good vs Hieron, but I'm happy with what we got.

These fights look good...Hieron who many feel is the most talented guy in the tournament gets the "weaker" opponent to make his way to the finals...even though we saw last season we saw Roger Huerta get beat even though everyone had him picked to fight Alvarez for the title...so we all know anything can happen in a fight!

I want Hieron to win as well. I think stylistically he is the only one in the tournament who can compete with Askren. I'd also be interested to see if Hawn can use his judo to beat out Hieron's wrestling. If Hawn gets to the finals, it would be Olympian vs Olympian, which would be cool.

@Kokid951   I think he definitely was a game fighter, but not on level with Hieron.  Even the ref thought so with that super quick stoppage.
