I'm very interested in a Cain vs JDS rematch. If Cain can demonstrate he's back in top form, this can still be a very competitive fight and I think I'd pick Cain to win.

@Dakej  Duh?  Yeah, I saw it.  I don't think it proved much.  Everyone has a puncher's chance.  Cain used the wrong game-plan.  I predict Cain will win the rematch.

I don't know Cain and I've never met him ni my life but it looked to me as if his mind/mentality wasn't in the fight against J2S. I think alot of guys get too complacent when they win the title.

@Bill - My point was it would be stupid to make that rematch now. Cain should go win a fight or two and then get another shot. Mir is the best candidate now.

Yes an immediate rematch right now for Cain wouldn't make any sense in terms of fairness or promotional angle.

I'm just confused as to who they could match Cain up with......

I agree with Bill that Cain would win a rematch. However, losing in the first round the way he did puts him behind Mir in line for a title. I think JDS defeats mir, then losses to Cain.

Who cares who they match Cain with? The important thing is the title fight. Cain can fight Nelso, Werdum, or Hunt. It doesn't matter, as long as he stays active and looks good so he can get his rematch.

Mir has been training for Cain this whole time. I think it would be better to train for Cain than it would be for JDS. With JDS you need to worry about the striking, big time. But with Cain you worry about the striking, the wrestling, the GnP, the pace and cardio. Mir probably had a good strategy for Cain, and might use the same one here. It could benefit him.

Though it only takes one punch. But then again, ask how Kongo faired against Mir.

I think the 2nd JDS/Cain fight will be just as tough to call as the 1st. Cain's demeanor lost the fight for him.

JDS via easy knockout, Mir doesn't have the takedown ability nor the striking speed to do anything in this fight.

@Oldnick: Freeman is a career gimme for Mir as he was an INSANELY different fighter at the time and totally looked past Freeman, whose father had just died and was a man possessed. Vera, and ESPECIALLY Cruz, are throwaways because that was the transitional motorcycle accident 'Am I still a fighter?' Mir, again a different man. I am a Mir fan because THAT guy is a FN fighter! Not just in the cage, he fought his way back, against injury and self-doubt and got himself back into a title fight TWICE! I will never root against Mir, and although I would be a fool to bet on him in this fight, I would be a bigger fool to bet on JDS.

100 thumbs up for thiago! It's a fight who the hell knows what can happen so picking anyone isn't stupid. And Mir is tough so he could def win this fight, however I will be picking JDS for a tko

Whoever you have winning I think the most likely outcome is an early finish. The fight most likely ends in the first round .

Mir won´t know what hit  him, at least Overeem had equal (or better) KO power than JDS, Mir is a beast on the ground but the only way Mir it´s gonna be  on the mat it´s by getting  KFO.
it´s gonna be fun watching it but not as much as if were Overeem, at least in that fight I wasn´t that sure about the ending.

****** Overeem and his steroids
