It really is a shame how many people never had a chance to see Fedor fight...now he lives on as a Legend.

haha the thing is though Fedor's whole career has been him fighting people who don't matter and then some real competition was just sprinkled in every so often.

It is unfortunate that this is apparently going to be Fedor's last fight.

I'd have loved to see him give it a shot at 205.

Fedor should have moved to 205 a long time ago, and hes very stupid in NOT doing so.

Anyone that says Fedor A-million-ankles should move to 205 doesn't understand fedor. In his mind, dropping weight would be hiding from bigger competition. Fedor would rather retire than be a coward in his own mind. That is why he is the goat.

@Benjamin, thank you for that, people just dont understand how Fedor thinks. Is it the correct way to view weightcutting? Maybe, but how can you fault somebody for fighting dudes bigger than him.

I completely understand they way Fedor thinks, however, refusing to do the logical thing doesn't make him the GOAT. I think most fighters would rather retire than be a coward in their own minds dude.

fedor consistently struggled with fighters that were as fast as him, 205 would be fighters as fast as him and i think he would have lost a lot more by doing that.

Fedor is awesome, im a big fan of him, but his management and fight choices have killed what could have been the best career of any heavyweight.  As of now fedor beat a lot of solid competition and he whupped a lot of cans.  Ill be a fan oh his pride days til the day i die but his recent choices are silly if you ask me.

I agree with all that except the speed.  Everyone he lost to where slower than him.. by far imo.  He lost to Werdum due to a dumb mistake... to Silva due to a HUGE size disadvantage and to Hendo via H-Bomb.  All three were better competition than he had faced the previous five years when he beat Mirko in his prime.

reason why Fedor is the GOAT (as of now, Anderson will be the GOAT on July 8) is 'cause he beat them all, real competition or not he won. And he did it while being the smaller guy every time.

I know what you mean, but people with the opinion that Fedor is the GOAT.. I don't think they would say... he beat everyone, real comp or not..lol. Fedor's biggest moments were last decade in PRIDE fighting Cro Cop and Nog... beyond that?... He did beat most everyone.. until he left PRIDE. I agree with @Pierce... his management failed him.

@kalibo i was more talking about in his early days, the guys he had problems with were just as fast as him and he made the slower stronger guys look foolish.

Not so much his recent losses.

It truly sickens me that Fedor's mismanagement has even made it possible to make an argument against him being the GOAT.
He had SOOOOOOOO many opportunities to erase all doubt of his legitimacy, but M1 Global destroyed his legacy.
Just thinking of the fights we missed at the times they would've been relevant like Fedor/Randy or Fedor/Brock etc. just makes me want to vomit.
