Most likely it will be either Mir (best bet) or Hunt (I hope) as replacements if Overeem cannot fight. If Hunt gets the shot I will pick for him of course. :)

Where are the Mir fans at?!

I've been seeing more chatter on here about Hunt vs. JDS than Mir vs. JDS which surprises me. Frank Mir has only lost to 2 guys in the last 4yrs and both those guys were north of 265lbs, elite wrestlers, and had hands the equivalent to cement-filled lunchboxes. JDS is none of the above which is why this fight could be interesting. In my Frank Mir-nuthugging opinion, Frank Mir is a tougher opponent for JDS than Overeem because of his style. Sure, Overeem is a K-1 World Champ, but JDS's boxing is second to none in the UFC. Mir has above average standup and his ground game is unquestionably the best in the division (Okay, maybe Werdum). I like both fighters and would love to see this fight happen.

I def think Mir is more deserving. I wont mind if he gets his shot. I just think Hunt/JDS could be interesting.

I absolutely do not want to see JDS/Mir but Hunt/JDS on the other hand is an interesting matchup to me

Those who are suggesting Barnett-Dos Santos, ***? Why would you replace a guy who got caught cheating with a guy who has made a career out of it?! Remember Barnett vs. Fedor? No, of course not.

Mir will get the shot, he is the most logical choice. I'm not a fan of Mir, but he clearly deserves it more than anyone else. Why should Mark Hunt get a title shot over Mir? Mir is a more interesting opponent for Dos Santos and has a much better chance to win.

He has a better chance to win and he deserves the shot more but he is DEFINITELY NOT a more interesting opponent than Hunt.

Hunt is not the right pick right now, He needs to prove himself with a couple more fights and improve his cardio.... His cardio is ***king terrible. Mir is the logical Pick right now and he's gonna get Ko'd in the first round.... Easy money

UFC really needs to start looking for heavyweight prospects and sign some talent because it's not deep at all right now.

It's not deep in comparison to other divisions but it's the deepest in MMA HW history.

@Anikm it's the shallowest out of all the divisions in the UFC. Of course its deepest in HW history... MMA evolves and it continues to get better fighters, you can say that for every division.

About Hunt's cardio. If you are looking at his fight with Ben Rothwell you guys do realize that the fight took place a mile above sea level. There were a ton of people gassing in that event and the UFC was ******* stupid setting up a heavyweight fight in Denver.

I tell you what, If Mir does get the call it would have a kick ass backstory.

Frank Mir the man that twice defeated a brazilian legend and broke his arm. and after beating the Black House Master, it is now time for Rodrigo Nogueira's biggest star pupil to honor his fallen master by defeating the man that put him in near retirement. JDS is now facing his masters greatest adversary.
