Pantoja - Royval will be way closer than these abysmal 12% on Tapology would suggest

Predictions: 8 of 12 Winners, 4 Perfect, 555 Points   |   Tied for 1509th

There a 3 dogs that I think have a chance of winning but I am not sure if it's because they are Brasilian or if they actually have a chance.

With everything that is going on in Garry's life it could affect him in this fight and luque is not a bum so I could see a decision win or late round 3 KO.

Also I think Rosa and Lipski have a chance and this is WMMA so nothing is set in stone. Does anyone else have thoughts About these fights ?

Predictions: 5 of 12 Winners, 1 Perfect, 305 Points   |   Tied for 5356th

Edwards vs. Covington
Colby Covington, DEC
I can definitely see Leon getting something done here, but I think Colby's a worse matchup for him than Usman was. If Colby can keep Leon off his rhythm with his trademarked pace, then I can see him getting a decision win. Though I can also see him getting caught and finished. Hard to say.

Pantoja vs. Royval II
Alexandre Pantoja, SUB, R2
Hard to see how Royval is gonna be able to do much to Pantoja at this point.

Rakhmonov vs. Thompson
Stephen Thompson, TKO, R2
Please. Please. Please. Please. Please. Please. Please. Please. Please. Please. Please. Please. Please. Please. Please. Please.

Ferguson vs. Pimblett
Tony Ferguson, TKO, R2
Please. Please. Please. Please. Please. Please. Please. Please. Please. Please. Please.

Luque vs. Machado Garry
Ian Machado Garry, DEC
I don't like Garry either but I don't really know if Luque's got anything for him at this point, man.

Emmett vs. Mitchell
Josh Emmett, TKO, R2
Josh is getting older and all, but I think he can still get something done with Bryce. He's got good enough wrestling to where I think he can keep Thug Nasty on the feet and take him out with a few bombs.

Aldana vs. Rosa
Irene Aldana, DEC
Aldana getting absolutely ****** by Nunes shouldn't be that much of a surprise, so a step down in competition should be much more easy for her to be able to do something here.

Garbrandt vs. Kelleher
Cody Garbrandt, TKO, R2
Come on Cody please god make a comeback bro. Can we see a return to form? Perhaps...

Menifield vs. Jacoby
Dustin Jacoby, TKO, R2
Interesting fight but I'm gonna go with Jacoby because I think he's more slick on the feet. Alonzo could get it done though.

Ulanbekov vs. Durden
Cody Durden, DEC
I think Durden's the real deal, his fight with Hadley showed he has the dog in him and losing to Mokaev isn't a bad thing.

Fili vs. Almeida
Andre Fili, DEC
Fili may be a journeyman by now but he's got stupid power in his hands still. Should be a good fight but I have Fili.

Gaziev vs. Buday
Martin Buday, DEC
Buday has the experience advantage when it comes to fights in the big show. Wouldn't be surprised if Shamil's the real deal though.

Brown vs. Salikhov
Randy Brown, TKO, R2
Randy has an enormous reach advantage and is in a much better state. Muslim seems like he's outta his prime.

Rosa is really not that good… if Aldana is back anywhere near her best, she takes it pretty comfortably. Im just concerned about what that Nunes beatdown could have done to her confidence, but then again, Nunes kinda did that to everyone

Haven't gotten to the other ones you mentioned but I think Lipski O'Neil should have their odds flipped. Naturally that means I bet Lipski.

Rakhmonov vs. Thompson
Shavkat Rakhmonov, SUB, R3
I want wonderboy to win so bad but Rakhmonov is just too good. I think the only way Thompson wins is if he lands a flash head kick..

Ferguson vs. Pimblett
Paddy Pimblett, SUB, R2
Tony is old and washed. I think that is a major disadvantage. However i can see tony flash ko'ing him.

Luque vs. Machado Garry
Ian Machado Garry, TKO, R3
Luque is washed and old but he can grapple Garry to a ud win, I don't see that happening.

Emmett vs. Mitchell
Bryce Mitchell, DEC
I think Mitchell is a better grappler and that is what will him the fight.

Aldana vs. Rosa
Irene Aldana, DEC
boring UD

Garbrandt vs. Kelleher
Cody Garbrandt, TKO, R2
GOATBRANT

Menifield vs. Jacoby
Alonzo Menifield, TKO, R3
Sucks he's on the early prelims but it is what it is.

Brown vs. Salikhov
Randy Brown, DEC
I like Randy a lot in this fight. He's younger, taller, huge reach advantage. Salikhov is primarily a striker. I think Randy can keep this at range and use front kicks and knees to good effect. Randy is also hard to takedown with that long frame of his. Even if Muslim panic shoots like he did against Dalby, it’s gonna be very difficult to finish the takedown for him. Pushing 40yo doesn’t help either. I think Randy is just gonna be a bit too much for Salikhov here. Think a decision win for Rudeboy it is.

I know there are stacks of editorials saying that ring rust is not a thing, but two years out of the cage can't be good.

Thanks for the answers.

One fighter that I am super confident is gonna win is Pantoja, i didn't even know this before today but in his last fight against Royval he had a knee injure and fought anyway. After the fight he had surgery and could not fight for a long time.

If he finished Royval in round 2 while not 100% there is no way that he will lose now after improving and becoming a champion. There is some truth to the fact becoming a champion instantly makes you better.

Last two fights, I let myself fall into that trap of leaning toward fighters I WANTED to win.  I can feel myself doing that with El Cucuy and Wonderboy.  After so many years of appreciating their skill, it's just tough to see them lose.
Not saying they will lose, but time snatches the W from everybody eventually.

I beg to differ on Lipski's evolution as a fighter. Ever since she went to ATT and started training with Amanda Nunes she has look much improved. Her grappling defense has gotten a lot better and she has bulked up in muscle.
She already defeated Gatto who is a better overall grappler than O'Neil and a better striker who also had a big reach advantage on Lipski (that she actually uses with her long jabs).
